Toyota duet engine oil

How much oil reduction can be normal for older toyota jdm models like Toyota duet 1.0 automatic.
As i had to top up the oil approx 1 litre after continous running for 800 900 km.
I am using caltax 20w50 mileage is around 185k km.

Your engine is weak. 20w50 is too thick and your car is reducing oil meaning piston rings are almost gone and other internals are at the end of their life. Mention your city. Since good and maintained EJ 1000cc engines are hard to source, I suggest an overhaul instead of swap.

5w-30 or 0w-20

Aftee compression test and fixing the problem switch to 10w40 and then 5w30.

Weak valve seats is what he means. Go for it. After that switch to a good quality 10w40. Avoid 10w40 Havoline, its very basic and then a good 5w30 from any brand.
