Toyota Duet Idle RPM problem

i have a problem with my duet is that "the car rpm is now on neutral is 2100 and its original rpm is 1000 i think but when the mechanic slow down the rpm the car switch of due to the low speed and too much vibration mechanic did every thing but the rpm are not setted at their original place and at 2100 rpm it is not good for the engine plz help me some one told me it is the problem of the butterfly in the carborator but i dont find any mechanic who can do that plz guide me to the any best mechanic in the Lahore who is specialist

ur engine bay might be dusty and dry

seems to me as a blokage in oil pump of transmission. better get that oilfilter for transmission cleaned up. be sure that it not a rpm meter fault. any ways get consultation from a good automitic transmission technician. i suggest a trained company mechanic.

Make sure all the vacuum lines are connected properly, and in a good shape.Also check for any leakage from inlet manifold.

the problem cannot be resolved in million years trust me i have the same in my car and was making even black smoke even though it was on petrol.the mechanic could not setlle it out even after 3 days,the only 1 who can do is toyota itself they have electronic devices which can do it as new and your car will be more smoother try it if u trust my advice

use carborator cleaner spray i use it for same prob of my vitz

some common problems in these engines which lead to such things.

Get valave clearance checked frm proper mech thopugh better go to toyota 3S dealer.Its coils inspected as they got short.though the best way can be I.T test frm any toyota 3S dealer which will catch the culprit sensors.

I am asuming this is a EFI engine. How did this problem started? Did u try and reset ur car's ECU by removing the battery negative terminal for 5 Minutes after mechanic adjusted the RPM?

Thing is ECU learns all these settings so if you fiddle with all these you must make it re learn new settings.

Try reseting the ECU. Lower the RPM to 1200 than try.

I had the same problem with me storia/duet, get ur butterfly repaired, the car may b getting excess air when its ring inside the butterfly is damaged, plus if you are having a continuous check engine light on, thn remove the terminal of battery , if it still gets a high RMP level thn u have to change the RMS censor.

I have Toyota Duet 2002, with twin cam engine, manual transmission. As starting the engine, the rpm reaches to 2100, sudden falls below 1000 rpm and keeps on doing up and down and never stay in control. As I press accelerator the rpm falls below 1000 rpm and the engine goes off. When convert on CNG the rpm gets stable on 1000 but the car doesn’t gets in instant pick, also vibrates while pickup.

Some mechanics say it could be due several reasons like: car sensors/computer card / throttle body / fuel injectors / fuel pump. I have also changed the clutch and pressure plates but the vibration thing is still the same.

Can anybody suggest what to do where to go? What is the best solution?

kept 2003 storia cng for six months with same rpm problem.no mechanic can fix it

get new spark plugs , change oil , change air filter and ask the toyota dealer in ur city 2 do tunning and a complete checkup! no mechanic is better than the dealer's workshop!

I think your last post holds a clue. The car is relatively stable on CNG. That means the problem is with the fuel system somewhere.

Finally the problem is solved i change the engine complete and the problem gone the car drive is like a new one when i 1st purchased it

How much did it cost? i mean the whole engine, assembly and labour? i am getting it for 25000rs, kabuli 2nd hand less used engine. what have you paid for the new engine>???

i think it is late but i will tell you that engine cost me 28 and labour cost me 5 thousand

I bought a duet 1998 model. Now the engine checklight comes on sometimes. It cannot be diagonosed by toyota as the OBD system is for year 2000 and above cars. My mechanics cannot identify the problem so looking for some help. I have not clue about cars as this is my 1st one. I have changed the air filter, the oil filter and the engine oil...

Now when the car engine checklight comes on I feel a drag as though air is going in my engine and I loose acceleration. When I press the acceletor pedal hard things become fine and the light goes off.

My idle rpm is currently 1300-1600. and I have noticed a drop in my fuel efficiency. Please suggest some things that I can try... the parts are very expensive here and I have no idea about the car... so please pardon me if I ask you things again and again....
