Has Anyone experienced fortuner 1gd knocking

No... I don't think so. I have been driving it for almost 10 days now with diesel once from shell and next time from hascol tank full. Haven't heard anything so far. It has hardly done a few hundred kms so far.

Going to take mine back tomorrow to dealer ship mine has knocked 4 times after filling it up from shell. Its most likely bad diesel from shell

I ve driven mine for about 3000 kms. No knocking so far.

diesel engine doesn't knock as it doesn't have spark plugs, the sound is similar to knocking in diesel engine is clanking or rattling sound on running diesel engine, this noise is caused by the compression of air in the cylinders and the ignition of the fuel as it is injected into the cylinder.

for new diesel engine i would stick to 5w40 or less but for 1kd or 1kd 15w40 is fine. I m using caltex 15w40 delo 400mgx which is also cheaper n pretty good compare to toyota 20w50 engine oil.

i just received my fortuner diesel. Many people suggested me to buy prado txl or fortuner petrol as they think diesel is a old thing now. i read many forums and reviews on youtube and success of 1gd fortuner in india,Australia and russia . So took a decision to buy this beauty. Never drove any fortuner before. First time driving mine i felt this car is flying after yu cross 100 speed. Plus i felt its comfortable as people said its not. I hope i took a good decision

you did a right decision. new fortuner is comfortable definitley. Seats are somewhat hard but not firmer than grande seats.
Engine is definitely responsive and you never feel any drop in acceleration or pull even beyond 150 kmph.
And it is very efficient too. I got more than 14 kmpl average at constant 100 kmph which is unthinkable in any other SUV of this size.
Off the road this car is a beast. Nothing can beat it.

How much it cost for the front cam if I install from Toyota? Hows the quality of that cam? Anyone here who installed it from Toyota?

its a wonderful SUV. So far my experience is very statisfactory. Very responsive pick and very peaceful drive. Yu have to buy the front cam Which is not installed from the factory. Yes mats yu have to buy it aswell and do not forget to have a first inspection which 1000 km. Baki enjoy your ride Bro. Congrats in advance
