Surprisingly, I found the civic with fabric seats (mine) to be more comfortable than the one with leather seats (my brother's car). A lot more cushioning and comfort in non leather version. In fact, even when I got the seats leather wrapped, they maintained superior comfort over the factory leather seats. This was with reference to the 9th gen civic.

My boss has a prado 2010 with factory leather seats. The seats in my ex Surf 2003 (fabric, covered in leather locally) were more comfortable for him than in his prado. In fact, he asked me if I had added some cushioning in the seats when he hitched a ride with me.

Are the seats in your civic oem leather or fabric?

The seats on my Civic are aftermarket leatherite. Thick one with a mild layer of extra foam and every single person with oem leather specially thinks they are far superior and softer.

But apart from the seat softening, the overall posture in Fortuner helps making it uncomfortable further

I found the same in my non-Grande 1.8 CVT model as compared to Grande. The fabric seats of my 1.8 CVT are more comfortable and provide better cushioning as compared to leather seats of Grande. This has been observed by many friends and family members of mine who own Grande and sat in my car.

Civic (Honda) has one of the best seating postures for long drive. Have travelled Karachi to Lahore multiple times, and even Karachi to Islamabad a few of times, and never had any comfort issues in City Vario 2008, Civic reborn, and civic 9th gen.

I don’t remember which episode it was where Jeremy, Richard and James were discussing leather on seats but the verdict was: leather on seats was a concept which was a symbol of roughness while fabric was considered luxury. The open cab cars earlier had no roof over the driver who was given a leather seat while the coach/cabin where the owner would sit had fabrics. But somehow leather became a trend in cars now which isn’t exactly luxury as per the origin

This isn’t my philosophy or statement, I mentioned what the 3 journalists said in one of the shows.

True.. i woild prefer gabric over leather any time kf the day but utility wise leather is prefered . Soda shoda gir jai tou safai main asaani and all.. but aboard u get option for fortuner too fabric or leather here we dont .. unfortunately

Same here, my kids are very young so had to go for leatherite in my Civic because A) its better to sit and much comfortable than pathetic oem leather offered by Atlas and B) the cost is 4 times less with the advantage that it doesn’t fade or discolour as well like oem does.

I am saving up and planning to get an suv ..
I want it to be comfortable for long highway journeys as well as if i feel like going up north tou manage ho jai..
I also dont have a range if 80 plus to go for prados and all jo abailable hain..
This fortuner is the only option left (jo k i want k v6 walo aao next year) and tht is uncomfy what do i do

Many many people and even you might disagree with me but I really like the new Kia Sportage which is a compact SUV. The ride and comfort is very car like with advantage of high clearance.

Kia has seriously pulled their socks and globally as well they are getting higher and higher with their products and standards. Wait for Sportage. Take a test drive of Sportage and then decide if you wanna save around 4 Million and rather get a more economical and practical compact SUV or 6.5 Million for Fortuner

I dont know if its me or happens to others. Every now and then whenever i leave my fortuner un-attended i see scratch mark on the body as if someone has intentionally scratched it with sharp object. One of the bugger tried to have his initial "S" as well. I hope there is special place for them in hell but why people do that, what they get out of it. It so depressing.
Secondly i want to ask experts if glass coating helps in this regard. thanx

Yes glass coating helps in protecting through these scratches

Could be cat claws? Because my car’s bonnet and wind screen has cat claws marks in the form of dust.

could be dogs. Astray dogs in my office parking lot ruined the hood of a Vezel. A party of 3 wild dogs climbed the hood and did their special dance putting a lot of scratches in the process
