was confused for petrol vs diesel and finally decided to pull the plug on diesel fortuner ---read the whole reviews (thanks for people sharing insight here ) and called some dealership to check the booking availability and to my surprise almost all were giving ready delivery--first i thought i may be calling europe dealerships but then i remembered the non tax filer clause and for first time felt good for paying tax--just had to pay the transfer fee on top of total price and got a ready delivery for sigma --price hike was steep and i was not aware but i guess its only gonna go up from here more.
owned the fortuner petrol 4x4 and when i started driving this, i felt great for the decision--there is no comparison of petrol vs diesel --diesel felt so good to drive and not like prado 2.7 (also owned previously) or fortuner 2.7 which felt so much underpowered--
the car is very responsive, headset is good , multimedia is also good (compare to grande), steering was tilt to left and got adjusted this morning--absolutely loving the decision to go for diesel--this is my 2nd diesel car (first was like 12 years ago) i prepared my mind for some serious noise issues but there was not much to my surprise, one thing i noticed which was very obvious is the very very slight vibration in car which we don't feel in petrol suv.
i am not too worried about resale for now but i can say if anyone not buying diesel because of the fear of resale, just don't buy fortuner at all..4x2 or even 4x4(old version) are damaged goods without VSC,TRC, HA, DAC ,beside it took 4 months for me to sell my prado, so resale is more luck rather then variant---looking for some after market recommendations --thanks
EDIT : the seats are very uncomfortable and i think i would need to add extra layer of foam with lumber support for driving seat--kindly suggest the solution for seating
