Toyota Fortuner Officially Launched by IMC in Pakistan

Guys any update on Fortuner facelift, what makes me wonder is the fact that I'm looking to book a Fortuner these days and V and Sigma bookings are completely closed.

Only G is open for booking.

With Kia Sorento coming and Isuzu MU-X also in the pipeline for 2021 I think Fortuner facelift is imminent. Should happen somewhere in Q1 of 2021.

May I ask whether you’re running the stock tires or if you upgraded to proper all terrains? I am considering on changing to all terrains and going up to a 265-65-18 size, as I can’t seem to find any good 17” wheels to swap to.

I think the following post maybe an eye opener and of immense interest to existing and potential owners of Fortuner.

This is circulating on WhatsApp Groups.
A Toyota Fortuner 2020 having hit a tractor trolley toppled and rolled over multiple times.None of the Airbags opened despite a forceful impact on the front, damaging the front bonnet and roof.I know of a similar case of a Honda Civic 2016.
Wonder if there is any Automobile Regulator, Consumer Court,Competition Commission or even honourable High/Supreme court where victims of such serious manufacturing lapses, poor business ethics/practices can be addressed.
All these PKDMs especially the big three are really taking consumers for a ride.CBu models which are being put on demonstrations have all the features including minimum six air bags but as soon as they begin manufacturing in Pakistan all the frills/features are taken away accept basics.

There was no forceful front impact
PKDM Fortuner does not have curtain airbags only frontal airbags which deploy incase of front end collision
Bumper is perfectly fine, Grill, Headlights, Only damage to the top part of the hood/bonut.

Front crash would be a 100% ok in this car and airbags wouldn't deploy

An Airbag can actually kill if it deploys when not needed.

Such claims are usually made by people who passed their Physics exam with the help of 'booty'

Also I'm surprised that Fortuner does not have grab handles for rear passengers(this will be a problem for my father) , they give it even in revo. I'm sure a lot of people must have gotten aftermarket grab handles installed. A quick search didn't turn up anything .

Yes I got the ones that are fixed in front headrests. Don’t remember where I ordered them from

Thanks for your quick reply, what was the installation process ? and would be grateful if you can find the source , my car is coming in march so not in any hurry , It came as a big surprise that they would skip this thing in an SUV.

Its such a shame that a vehicle that big and costing nearly 10 mil comes equipped with only 2 air bags.

It comes with 3 airbags - driver-side knee airbag as well.

Airbag addition costs a lot of money - already people are complaining about the high price of the car.

I agree about high prices and its the taxes here which makes the price double but that shouldnt be an excuse for the car manufacturers for excluding some of the most imp safety features in a vehicle like that.

They are fitted behind front seat headrests. I think I got them from Autolux.pk

Installation is not as such a process, its simply a handle with loops at both ends. You remove the front headrests and place these then put the headrests back
