I know the difference between TRC and A-TRC. Just to give you a hint: TRC does not work through brakes but A-TRC uses brakes.

I have personally observed A-TRC in action during the experiential drive activity IMC conducts. During the "step" obstacle, when one of the wheels were in the air, the wheel didn't spin while crossing it.

Even in traditional four wheel drive vehicles, if one wheel is in the air, it will not spin. You really don't understand the system. It is only in full time four wheel drive vehicles that too with centre differential unlocked that even one wheel in the air it will loose traction and that wheel will spin.

If you read some early posts, it has been declared one of the most uncomfortable SUVs.It was okay when it was around 60lacs.Anyway Sorento will really give Fortuner a run for its money especially the 4x2.BTW I am not in run for either cars,Just an option.

4x2 Fortuner will be dead after Sorento but there wouldnt be much effect on Sigma variant imo.

Alot of people buy fortuner as its a proper SUV (look and feel), they don't care about 4x2 they will never take it off-roading, this is the only SUV they can buy brand new and at this price point.

Those buyers wont shift to a soccer mom van , believe that .

Also comes down to personal preference , i'd prefer my civic X over this van thing

Sorento, that too previous generation, is a van. A bigger van, maybe an MPV. Both engines on offer by Kia are notorious gas guzzlers, just like their 2.0 in Sportage.
IMHO, Sorento will only affect sale of Carnival and Sportage. Not Fortuner.

That is your opinion and is purely subjective.

A lot of people also buy the fortuner because they want a 7 seater and dont want to be in a minivan. This lot is also not interested in offroading and end up buying a 4x2 Fortuner which is waste of such a capable platform.

You are right some people specifically want a seven seater and Fortuner was the only option for years and is super uncomfortable Sorento might not be an off-roader but I bet it is going to be day and night more comfortable then Fortuner

Well without 4x4 Fortuner isn’t a proper SUV infact it’s also a glorified soccer mom van on steroids bro. What’s the use of such huge a vehicle when it isn’t capable on-road nor off-road?
