Bad? Lack of features and power. 2.7 is kind of okayish. Would be better with a more powerful engine.

Actually my fortuner has been invoiced from Karachi. And it will reach islamabad by the end of this week. I am comparing it with 2012 Prado TX, as I can afford only upto 7 million.
So as for the engine power, they both are same. So i won't be complaining.
What about the ride comfort? Stability? And most importantly 2nd row seating.

Comfort and second row space is good as compared to previous model. Altough thrid row seats can get a bit cramped. And i have no idea about stability as I haven't driven it above 100 km/h.

To me, with almost 600 km done, two things really concern me. One is the suspension. It's hard and doesn't absorbs the jerks nicely as I was expecting. Secondly, Steering is hard, so, the city maneuverability is bit difficult, especially in city like Lahore. As per response to acceleration, its better than I expected. Full of Features, I have no problem there, rather I am very happy. Had a problem with missing GPS antenna but I was able to handle it and claimed it from Indus after a week's efforts. The only annoying thing was, I had to open the entertainment console twice. The Entertainment system doesn't play Videos while the car is in motion. It's a standard safety feature from Indus. I had that managed too. I am going to install a front camera. You don't have to open anything for that, the wires are already there close to the front grill. I have found a vendor who will install the original camera with one year warranty. None of the dealerships are giving warranty more than a month. Exterior is too pretty, have added door visors that really complete the looks. Overall, for the price, probably its the best buy.

Seems fortuners are being built by chisels and hammers rather than on an assembly line...IMC and their goons are trying to market an impression that its such a hot cake that people are going crazy about it, misleading potential buyers and public in general.

Had it been so hot, since its launch and 'crazy bookings', there must have been atleast a few dozens (if not hundreds) on the roads by now...

I recommend no1 book the Fortuner without a test drive dont fall for the aesthetics

If you have driven Prado then Fortuner's ride and comfort level has no comparison with it or for that matter Civic X has better ride and comfort level but since Civic is a sedan we can't compare it with an SUV but Civic X is way ahead in comfort, drive and stability. Civic X simply swims on the roads. Coming back to the point, if you are driving Fortuner after having a Prado you will feel clear difference in every aspect but you will feel better if you are upgrading from a smaller car or even Vigo. It all comes down to what have you been driving before and how much can you afford to spend on a car?
There's not a single thing in which Fortuner out performs a Prado, may it be 4-5 years old. In fact it doesn't even come close to it. As soon as you sit in Fortuner you will feel it's smaller than Prado. You can't have 3 full grown 6 ft males in the 2nd row of Fortuner however they fit perfectly in Prado. Drive comfort, engine response and shock absorption also has no comparison. I could feel every bump or stone on the road while test driving a Fortuner. Even on paddle shifters the Fortuner doesn't even come close to Prado in D mode.
Having said all this if you are upgrading from a smaller car and want a brand new SUV then Fortuner is the best option but if you have the budget and can afford to spend an extra million simply go for a grade 4.5 ~ 5 2012-2013 Prado.

In my humble opinion:

Comparing Fortuner and Prado is absolutely pointless. Prado owners or importers shouldn't feel insecure by Fortuner. And Fortuner owners shouldn't feel that what they are buying or have is superior to Prado at the same time.

But what I think is, at 5.2 million for a brand new Fortuner with 3S back up, the Fortuner is a very good option in its price bracket. Please do keep in mind a decent Prado with good options is at least 3 million more than Fortuner and that isn't exactly pocket change, that too for a few years old vehicle. Please I request I don't want to argue on the JDM Quality and JDM standard etc etc. Fortuner is a very good option in this price bracket now. It justifies its price absolutely right for what it is and also what it isn't.

All in all Fortuner is a very good option for people who are upgrading from previous model or any other vehicle after stretching their budget to 5.2

What I just don't understand is, why are people comparing it with a superior vehicle? Those who have a good budget should go for Prado, and those who can hardly manage Fortuner budget should go for it eyes closed.

Welcome dear... Was missing your input here for days! Yes indeed.. I own one and its killer of a deal at 5.3 million mark being brand new under warranty, trendy and robust.
For all those happy rich people to spend 3 million more for a slightly better 5 year old prado which I disagree... Better get a brand new fortuner with brand new civic X in the same budget or br-v.
I have reviewed Prado vs Fortuner earlier in the thread and kept lc 120 prado tz variant for good 5 years and lc 150 tx both... I drive both and Fortuner turns out to be the real deal.. If anyone is really after Prado get the 4.0 variant which is damn powerful worthy of pulling 3 ton vehicle and more fuel efficient on long routes than tx 2700cc 4 speed single vvti..

You are right that price difference btw prado and fortuner is very big so these 2 suvs shouldnt be compared with each other.
But the fact Is that many people including me who even have bugdet to buy prado r opting for fortuner mainly coz it issnt worth it to spend 2.5 million more to get a 5years old prado just because it has better suspension.

this my first SUV earlier I was using Civic. For me suspnesion is okay yes there is cabin nosie specially during accerlation
