Fortuner defective transmission in brand new vehicles

Sold my 2022 Legender (which I bought brand new) after it developed transmission issues at only 6,000 km. The vehicle would shake/shudder when you press the accelerator pedal a little harder from stopped position and I also felt reduced acceleration. Im not facing the exact same issues, this sounds different to what I'm facing. Problem is I feel the car is holding gears for a longer period but do note it does shift gears before the RPM hits the redline. I will check now by driving the car in different modes.

I changed the oil of my legender with liqui moli at 500km odo. When should I change it again ? Car is at 2500km odo now. Thanks.

with liqui moli 10k mileage is recommended but if you used genuine toyota oil filter that has life of 5k kms.

Genuine Toyota oil filter easily lasts 8000 to 9000 km.

Thanks for the info. It might, but those are numbers hard to remember while doing regular maintenance. I just take the odd figures out of my calculations. Specially when one has more than one cars. But definitely to each their own.

I have Fortuner Legender 2022
Thinking to install Ironman Shocks Foam and BF Goodrich all terrain
Is it a good combination ?
Also from where can I get the Ironman Shocks Foam in Pakistan ?

Depends on where you will drive your ride mate. If you will drive in the city only then its not a good combination. Ironman distributor are in Karachi, their dealership is in Ittehad commercial area DHA.

I need more comfort should I change my shocks ?

I had same issues. Resolved after greasing drive shaft joints with help of grease gun. Grease used is red colour silicone.

Mate, getting BF Goodrich combined with Ironman Foam Cell Pro is a complete off road setup. If your daily use was the opposite, 90% off road and 10% city, id say go for it but that's not the case. Basically Ironman has 3 categories:

Nitrogas shocks (Light-Medium off roading)
Foam Cells (Medium-Hard off roading)
Foam Cell Pro ( Hard-Hardcore off roading, Baja shit etc)
Id say go for the Nitrogas since you'll be using it in the city majority of the time. The new GR also has nitrogas shocks. These shocks are definitely better than the OEM ones in Fortuner Legender or Sigma. You'll have to get the springs too which I didn't because I had already bought new tyres, the springs increase the ride height by 2 inch and with that I believe we do have to change the tyre profile. The guys at Ironman said its not necessary to change the tyre profile because of the height increase but I don't know you'll have to research on this.

Coming to tyres, again AT's like BF Goodrich/Coopers with aggressive treds are mainly used for off roading and tougher conditions where the terrain is more technical and rough. In your case id say go for a mild AT tyre, Yokohama Geolander G015/Michilen LTX, these are AT tyres but not as aggressive as BF/Cooper, if you decide to get tyres with a more aggressive tred pattern I believe your ride will get a bit uncomfortable. People usually get HT tyres as well for better comfort but I think that just kills the benefit of having 4x4 vehicle.

Is the first generation of Fortuner worth buying as a first SUV?
I was going for a newer 1.5l Jimny, but their prices make no sense buying, let alone their questionable ownership in the future.
Another choice was a 3-door Prado J120 on any engine choice, but they are now too old to be reliable, let alone their questionable ownership in the past.
That Fortuner may be larger than these two, but realized it's slightly larger than the Corolla Grande.
However, through forums, there were complaints regarding the performance, but it should be decent, and the fuel economy is not concerning.
Also noticed that the later model years have climate control, but not sure about other upgrades, especially after the 2016 policy.
Lastly, curious if it's possible to install a cruise control plug-and-play?

Fortuner is a nice 4x4, if you are willing to compromise a bit on comfort then go ahead.
