Sold my 20 Sigma Fortuner after four years of ownership. Despite my efforts to improve its ride qualityâsuch as adding extra foam to the seatsâthe experience remained uncomfortably bumpy. I also tested a friendâs Fortuner with aftermarket softer suspension and even took the Legender for a spin, but the ride was still far from satisfactory. Ultimately, I decided to sell it and switch to a used Sorrento.
As a daily driver in Karachi, owning a Fortuner felt like self-inflicted punishment. While I understand itâs built for 4WD, 99.9% of my 50,000 km of driving never required engaging it, even on trips to challenging destinations like Khunjerab, Taobat Bala, Kumrat, Tharparkar, Gwadar, and several journeys to Kanrach and Hingol. Interestingly, the 70 Series Prado I built has a noticeably better suspension than the Fortuner.
The Sorrento, however, is a game changerâit drives like butter. I only regret not making the switch sooner!
