I don't know why as Pakistanis we have stopped researching or reading things more carefully. I have seen so many misquoted and incorrect things on Social Media that people just forward to each other without verifying. This is something that's killing morality of the whole new generation. If someone had bothered to open Toyota's websites from other countries then it would have made lives much easier. It took me 5 minutes to do all the comparisons. Anyway here it is for all out there.
In the comparison below I am considering 4.0L variant from UAE because 2.7L variant is as basic as a Suzuki Mehran so I picked a higher model that had comparable options otherwise 2.7L variant is even cheaper. So here's apple to apple comparison from 3 local markets.
UAE:
4.0L β 129,900 x 28.53 = 3,707,000
India:
2.7L β 2,761,000 x 1.54 = 4,249,000
Thailand:
2.7L β 1,549,000 x 2.97 = 4,600,000
So the highest priced Fortuner is from Thailand which is 4.6 million but our Fortuner is about 7 lac expensive. I have always been of the opinion from the 1st Fortuner version launched in Pakistan that it should have been priced around 4.5 million which will create a new market segment. At 5.3 million mark they are just competing against imported Prado.
