Agreed. Diesel also has higher noise and other maintenance problems. I was looking at the manual and diesel needs tension pulley adjustments and intercooler refrigerant replacement and what not...

Has anyone experienced a strange liquid sound (like fluid moving in a container) while braking in their fortuners? And is it something to worry about? This sound is more pronounced at the front passenger seat area while braking.
I think you might be hearing the fluid move inside front shocks? You will also hear the sound over speed bumps as the front shocks compress. It's normal.
Thanks , I was quite worried after hearing that sound as the car is completely brand new.
