Dollar is hampering the pricing and so delaying launch...
Probably waiting for a 28 day cycle of fresh imports of new imported units and their resale trend at the given dollar rate value... Also waiting for the over all market to rise first... To place price better & mint more.. Same is the predicament for Atlas in launching Turbo.

All above will be introduced strategically with time intervals and not together.

Incorrect. As I said earlier:

Only 2.8L diesel (GD engine) and 2.7L Petrol will be coming:

4x4 Diesel High Spec
4x2 Petrol High Spec (There will be no 4x4 petrol anymore)

and another low spec variant is lined up for later launch. There is no 4000cc Fortuner planned.

4x2 high spec petrol 2700cc fortuner who will buy a SUV without 4x4 option... There was a rumor of huge government order requisition last year though for Fortuners...and a 4x2 fully stripped down version was in news for a little while.

They could launch a 4x2. People wont buy if they dont want it. But..for cities like Karachi at least, a 4x4 petrol should be a better seller over a 4x2 petrol.

When are these being launched anyway?

I am new on the forum. will be getting delivery of my new Black Fortuner on 22 January in Islamabad. Can someone guide on following aspects:-
a. Pre-Delivery Inspection? What all should I be checking?
b. Is there any need to get tyres changed? If yes then recommended tyres with cost effect?
c. Which company and what grade fuel should be used?
d. Any other guidance deemed necesarry will be appreciated.

In my experience, no need to get tires changed and no need to use any kind of special or premium fuel....just relax, use any fuel and enjoy

You might have to get wheel alignment and headlamp alignment done..my cars headlamps were not correctly focused and steering wheel was also off

Don’t change the tyres, they are Dunlops made in Thailand and pretty good.

Use normal fuel, not an issue for this coarse engine.

And yes my steering was also out of centre and alignment was also out.

And most importantly in future when you go to dealership for oil change they will recommend you their Tagalon 5w-50 which is not recommended for Fortuner 2.7 Petrol. Go for 5w30. I tried Tagalon because 5w30 wasn’t available with them that day and this time I requested them to arrange it. Trust me there is a dramatic and noticeable difference in engine sound, performance and fuel consumption with 5w30 Mobil this time

Dollar hike is pushing the launch away as the cost of production is making the price mix to be awful lot unreasonably miserable ... Fortuner is expected to unveil by February & deliveries from March .
Also the political scenario is uncertain.. ReVo & Fortuners will go hotcakes in elections times and all investors are eyeing over to mint the hell out of the first season with On money staggered to a whopping Rs. 1million. + in the first & second wave of deliveries.
