I didn’t believe the 2wd thing either but then I requested my source at Indus to forward them and checked the specification sheets myself and yes indeed they have removed the 4x4 system from 2.7 Petrol. Same is the configuration of trims in India as well. The 2.7 Petrol doesn’t have a 4x4.

They have added trailer bar though which I highly doubt was needed. I haven’t yet seen cars or suvs of this category pulling trailers behind them in Pakistan.

The Ex factory price for 2.7 is 5,549,000 (transit insurance and freight to be added further) and price of 2.8 Diesel is 5,899,000 (again additional costs applicable)

Additional WHT same on both 200k filer and 400k non-filer

My personal take on 4x4 is that due to a part time setup, its quite useless for those people who use the vehicle on carpeted roads, however it might get used once or twice during ten or twelve years and that too only because of want not need..

My friend; we should stop turning simple matter of economics into politics, Pakistan has one of the LOWEST amount of direct tax payers, in our case matter of divulging ones income voluntarily is not working at all, only half % of population is willing to document ones source of income, so in turn Pakistani citizens are paying 4 times higher custom duty compared to rest of the world, we will only pay what we cant get away with.

No matter who comes to govern this nation, the problem of not enough revenues to run the actual government will remain as they are.

When I told 2.8 diesel will be there next year last year... Idiots ridiculed it that why would indus change and upgrade such a hot selling product after a year but now the same very people are very eager to book one and drive and to comment about !

More than 6 months ago have given all details about ReVo and fortuner upgrades with blueprints which are now a reality!

V6 Fortuners are there under decision... If on a strategic delay as ReVo & Fortuners share the same assembly line & sales point of view! But we never know some special deliveries without V6 TRD branding might be rolling on our roads...sneak pass a lot earlier than the official launch - like some Ultra's civic turbos spotted in Lahore, Multan & karachi without any special badge well before official launch.

I do hope 4.0 V6 will launch this year, but i guess Indus want to see how much diesel Fortuner sell compare to 2.7 petrol sales so they might hold V6 engine. Also this new 1GD diesel engine got plenty of torque more than 4.0 V6 and with unichip tuned the torque will be more than 5.7 V8 Tundra giving 9-12km/L fuel consumption as well.

I agree.
However , I think the concern for many might be local diesel fuel quality, related higher maintenance for diesel vehicles (routine periodic maintenance frequency is higher compared to petrol) and not all are willing to chip their vehicles.
Some also dont like the diesel rattle...
The V6, if added to the lineup here, will address many of these issues.

Based on price difference between the two variants, one is inclined to believe that the petrol version is without the 4x4.

I have never kept diesel engine.. always preffered petrol..
But as the news are there will be no 4x4 in fortuner 2.7 petrol so its of no use for me.
Should i go for diesel 1GD?
I have no idea about diesel engines and how to take care of it.
Heard many times that diesel engine needs more maintenance but better fuel economy and better torque.
How do experts here find 1GD engine?
Should I go for diesel variant?
