Difference in tyre size, by that I mean the wheel rim size. Different sizes would show different speeds on the speedometer.

But that should only happen if one goes for customized wheel sizes. It should not happen in stock size that is according to specs

I have always found the gps indicates less speed compared to speedo, in my 3 recent rides.
I have 3.4% larger than stock wheel diameter on my pkdm vigo, and still the speed is 6% less (94km/hr vs 100km/kr) on gps.
My 8th gen civic had about 5% difference (stock wheels), and not sure about exact %age on 9th gen, but I do recall that in cruise mode on M2, with slightly oversized wheels, the difference was still about 5km/hr at 130km/hr speed.

So, its not a biggie, and pretty normal to find an inaccurate speedo. I take it as a good reason to install slightly taller tires (wider tires with same profile %age).

By the way I checked ODO meter accuracy VS GPS as well it was 100.00% accurate....after 252.6 Km both matched down to decimal point. That means stock tires are fully matched with the meter, and slightly higher speed is shown intentionally. It might have to do with safety i.e. encourages people to drive a bit slower.

Any disadvantages of UniChip on diesel? High fuel consumption? Not recommended for long drives? etc?

It has 4-5 power stages and 2 modes..
Eco mode saves you even more by upto 2km/l & power mode stage 5 makes it monster that is hard to tame.. Its plug n play doesn't void your warranty.. People are driving Revo on it for over a year and 40000kms done with no issues At all.
Don't always run on stage 4 or 5 use when in mood or needed to smoke a rude boy..

This is not only Toyota Pakistan but i believe global. As faced in Dubai. you have speed cameras set at 140kph on Dubai Abu-dhabi highway. if we setup GPS HUD the vehicle was driving at 150 on the speedo whereas at the GPS utility it was 139.

The car was top of the line 2.0 Limited Edition corolla with factory alloys, so i believe there is that intentional gap. The car never once got flashed for over speeding. as the cruise was set at 139 as per GPS.

That's strange. Isn't there a 10% tolerance in the GCC? Done lot of travelling in mainland Saudi at 125-130 km/h and never got a ticket/flash. Speeding cameras would only flash once you cross 132km/h (i.e. over the 10% threshold).

well the speed limit is 120KPH and flash threshold is 140KPH, at 141 you get a flash. and at GPS 139KPH it was never an issue

Diesel model will fail. Market sentiments are against diesel. Its incredibly hard to sell diesel Prado these days, don't know what IMC was thinking. No one uses SUVs here for towing, so there is no point in buying diesel which comes with higher maintenance cost.

Yes. You are right. We Pakistanis always resist new technology and then we always complain as well that we don't get new technology. No doubt many of us praise and want old times to come back with 1L, 2L, & 1HZ and F series engines.
Matter of fact is that the 2TR petrol engine was designed and introduced at the turn of the century or may be in last century. It is near to its end of design life and is really pathetic in refinement and efficiency. No doubt it is reliable since most of the teething problems were solved early and mechanics are familiar with it. But so too are vespa scooters from 1970's era.
You are also right that success of 1GD engine probably hangs in balance based on anecdotes recited by our half educated mechanics and their equally educated patterns. Cheers,

not as such resist new technology but factor accompanying it lead to we have the most pathetic diesel and petrol in world after somalia thanks to long generations of bhuttos and shit nawaz due to low quality fuel almost after every 10k km fuel filter need to be changed this thing is just one thing quoted alot other maintenance need to be taken care in diesel car you can also see what happened with civic turbo which was working perfectly before this drama fuel upgrade in 2016 nov after which it started knocking so instead of going in right direction here we go.

It will sell. We got no option in SUV plus Petrol variant doesn’t make any sense now. Diesel maintenance isn’t as high as you are assuming. Revo diesel is selling like hot cakes since a decade and people literally abuse it without maintaining it properly.
Plus Toyota Japan has also discontinued 4.0 V6 in TZ Prado since 2014 as Prado also now comes with 1GD engine now. Diesel is future and that 450 nm torque would be epic.
In 6.3m on road price you get a fully loaded zero meter jeep with latest engine ub aur kiya chahiye.

What do you mean fully loaded? A Land Cruiser ZX could be fully loaded...there are dozens of features local Fortuner lacks....if you see the owners manual you will see 75% does not apply to Pakistan because the feature is "optional" or "if installed". Amongst major ones are:

Front Cam (essential) - Local Fortuner head unit stops showing front cam as soon as wheels turn. I wouldn't call it "front camera ready"

Rear disc breaks,

Rain sensing wipers,

360 Cam,

Adaptive Cruise Control,

and many more....!
