Toyota fortuner rollover accidents

Can anyone plz give some information on SUV rollover accidents in Pakistan? Especially regarding toyota fortuner that how much of a concern is this rollover thing? And has anyone in Pakistan actually seen or heard it happen or is this just happens with people who drive bery rash and recklessly

Why are you creating multiple threads regarding same thing? Why are you so worried that it can roll over? Are you conducting some kind of a survey?

Every product has its pros and cons but an SUV is generally considered to be a safer vehicle to be in provided you do not drive like a "moot k khoo ka driver".

Some of my friends are against me buying fortuner or sny suv because of this rollover thing thats y i wanted to ask people on this forum that whether high rate of rollover accidents is really something to worry abt or just some far fetched thing

Yes it rolls over and you can get seriously injured and people can die due to locally made production quality. I would advise you to buy a prado or land cruiser. They roll over too but not much. Hence they are yet more. Suvs are not to be driven like honda civics. Your max limit on motorway should be 120.

Follow speed limits and you should be fine. Those giving you advises are either jealous of you or are being overprotective.

Accidents can happen to any car. A lot of people will prefer to roll over in an SUV than to drive straight into a tree in a sedan.

Saboor i am being honest with him. Truth is bitter to hear. I will show you a few pics. These PKDM cars if you crash them their whole engines comes behind. Jdm cars usually have the tendency to absorb the impact. Roll over a corrola and see what happens to you and rolls over a premio and see what happens to you. Jdm cars have very strong pillars. Chances are your life would be saved. As for the fortuner thing if it tyres brust on motorway at 130 it will roll over. U have to drive an suv very decently not like an evo

I am not into too a useless debate speaking with experience (and not being a fan boy of anything) prado have worst worst of all bodyroll than any suv every made dont go on my word just have a look underneat a prado a fully non independable suspension it has with height ratio being very odd
even hilux has less body roll

Mr Saboor i currently own a 2006 land cruiser vx limited. I drive it gently. I would agree with your point of prado. The point is, if you will try to drive an suv like a euro r or a honda civic, it might roll over on you.

You sir are talking of the 80s. JDMs are built better but I have seen new PKDM cars perform good in case of a crash.

Offcourse JDMs have more protection features but the body structure and strength. Nops. It alright.

I cant prove it with pics. Hit a corolla in 60kph you will get to know. Have u even how corrollas tear apart. Have u ever heard that a boy's bladder brusted in an accident. If you see accidented pictures you will get to know. PKDM cars only stop if you drive them nicely. I have an m5 v10, only one of the two in Pakistan. Its 2007 model. Normally when i cross 160 i switch on the vsc. At any moment it can skid. Its fast but one has to drive it carefully

Mirza Ali actually i did not liked the way Saboor replied so i had to mention it as he thinks we are some Suzuki Mehran owners and only he has got experience of driving Prados or Suvs.

From a Rolling over point of view a Prado will roll over but only if you corner at high speeds same will happen with land landcruiser if its in high mode. But as far as the driving pleasure and road grip is concerned Prado if compared to a Fortuner, Prado is a much better choice.

And Saboor whosoever you are, what are you, what is your status and financial net worth that you have so much PRIDE in you that you are saying this i dont want to get into useless debate. You should do one thing, log out from here and Relax at your home.

So what you mean is either we buy a cruiser on an m5 and if we cant we should buy a JDM.
Please let me know of one good place in Pakistan that can repair a JDM as per factory specs?
Also do let us know of a place from where we can get brand new parts ( Not Kabuli junk) for them. For example a generator belt, an engine mount, etc.

Btw I would love to see your m5.

Definitely you can buy a locally Manufactured car. Nothing is wrong with that. What my point is that some people give alot of preference to safety whereas some people prefer buying news cars which are locally manufactured with zero problems. But if you crash in a locally manufactured car, the injury will be severe where as in a JDM it would be lesser by 30 to 40 percent.

Thats a point. I personally dont go to Toyota. I know a few Mechanics who does the work for me. Rest i order parts from UK. I give it to the dewan guys and they just install it. They only charge for the services. Once they quoted me a bill 2.5 lacs, i bought all those parts through my Brother in law who lives in Uk and he send it to me from there. Delivery charges costed me only 21k and i got all those parts installed for only 56k by dewan guys. These dewan guys rip you off if you order parts through them. Sometimes i use used parts and sometimes new. These Germans are not at all expensive to maintain only if u have a relative abroad who can buy parts for you over there.

If you're concerned about safety, then you should not buy Fortuner. I actually booked Fortuner after getting impressed by the looks and size, but cancelled later because of no vehicle stability control or traction control and uncomfortable seats. They also increased price by 150,000 after I booked it.

Fortuner is longer than Prado, but narrower and almost same height. That increases the risk of rollover. No VSC makes it a very risky ride.

I drove Prado 120 for 5 years, it was my first SUV. It was a 2003 model, and yet it had stability control, traction control, hill start control and downhill assist control. None of these features are in Fortuner. Its a total rip-off at current price. The coolbox isn't even real coolbox. Its just a box with AC vents, in winter it becomes a hot box . In Prado I had a proper coolbox with separate button and it would chill drinks in 15 minutes, it was better than my home refrigerator.
