I've followed this thread since start. I also had talks with Toyota people in Lahore some 3 months ago on the pricing. And I was on the wait.
Today, considering the total minimum tally of some 5.8 mils for above car, my mind is totally clear.
I'll stick to my 3.4 Ltrs Jap drive ranged 4 Mils and there's no ride like this on Petrol:

Agreed that there'll be people willing to pay an insane amount for the Fortuner, but those will be those who either have no confidence in old cars and just want something "brand new", or those who know little about what the car has to perform with respect to driving pleasure and who have no time to look around for unique pieces of second hands that our market still does have to offer.
The Fortuner shown above lacks some "spark" to its looks, some "aggressiveness", some eye-catching "seskiness" as I stated before. Frankly, it's more like a "roofed Vigo" and the excess charges that you're paying - means some 2 Mils" - is basically just to have the Vigo covered up front to rear (Roofed)! IT IS STILL KIND OF A PICK UP TRUCK, and it is beyond me what would justify Indus to add nearly 2 Mils to the price of a Vigo for a vehicle that offers not commensurately enough of goodies. The engine is a 2.7 vs Vigo's 2.5 though, but just look at the interior and differentiate between this and the local Vigo's. It seems almost the same, no touch of "luxury" added.
A price level of some 4-4.5 Mils would have left me thinking. Not now. I'm a happy "surfer".
Regards.
