Toyota Grande CVT Gear Problem

Should i also get it calibrated , is there any disadvantage of doing so? Sick of that jerk. My friend super ect performs better then that in traffic stop and go

I wrote that OEM articlen for K313 CVT of Grande. Can you share values of pressure before and after? Further can you tell approx how much CVT fluid was less poured by your mechanic during chamber opening?

Aoprox 0.3-0.5litre was less when i followed the oem way.
Yes i have the values , the pressure was improved Around 0.2-0.3mpa at high sls pressure.
Now the pressure at low is 0.6mpa and high 3.5mpa

The problem is still here but now seems less in auto deceleration around 40. But the jerk problem is getting more highlighted.
The car shakes for a second when we push accelerator around 40 speed (also noticeable if take we take off foot around 40)

Another thing just came up know , the rpm drop , when the car is stopped at signal , the rpm drops to 0.5 in d gear. And if shifted to N then it come backs to normal. Never experienced This before But the car is now doing this since last few days.

yes this is done by techstream - it is also done by other offbranded tools .

Yes, I have written about this on PW before, It changes the driving dynamic slightly and you lose a little fuel efficiency too.

The jerky behaviour at 40km/h during mild cruise is the TCC fully locking in, It cannot be fully removed as its a feature, you will also notice that when you release the throttle after a strong burst of initial acceleration, the car will lunge forward then start to slow down. This is also normal for CVT - as its the TCC fully releasing.

If you are experiencing this too much then check the engine mountings. the engine should be pretty solid in the car - and not flopping about. If that it ok, and you are also seeing correct apply pressures then I think your primary valve body is acting up.

I do repair these now - mostly JATCO, but the failure you have mentioned also has showed up with a failed sheave pulley. (I hope its not that for you, as that repair is very expensive)

Yes exactly Thats the correct way of describing my fault , The toruqe convertor seems to be locked up too early in my case bro - Its a big trouble during drive in traffic around 3rd gear 40 50 speed.
The car is super silky on 1st 2nd gear around 20 speed.
Similarly when we de accelerate the car or apply brake it seems like the TC doesn't let the car stop and car jumps forward for a second.

So now the question is isnt 40 speed too low for lockup?
And How can we get that tsb update in Pakistan for extra slip of transmission. I will be happy to do that if the car econ drop from 10 to 7. Will take no time to get that update. :frowning.

The final question :- Before i changed cvt fluid there was no jerk (does it mean bcz the fluid was old the tc was slipping more then Normal and i thought thats how this car performs in actual) but after fluid flushed the car is back to Normal (and now i think its a fault).

Once again - car is 50k in odo and 2017 model. Driven with care never abused.

What you are experiencing is normal cvt behaviour. And yes, the tcc will apply at very slow road speed on cvt, when the car gets older and engine mount gets softer, you will feel the tcc kick in at takeoff (initial acceleration from standstill), that is also normal.

The software update makes it slip more and gently apply and deapply the tcc and makes the car drone more. Ask your toyota showroom if they can do it. Not all market ecu are compatible with it.

You are right i believe it will be normal cvt behaviour but what makes me really worried is that i have drove my friend and czn grande , 2016 and 2019 facelift model respectively and there is not a slight jerk upto 80kmh speed. Smooth silk shifting.
And about my car i am driving since more then a year now the jerk started after 2000km of cvt oil change.
Now the fluid is flushed 2 times plugs filters oil all is new and working fine , injectors and brake pads all cleaned and replaced just to fix this problem. The car Currently do more fuel average then it is supposed to. Means there can be no issue with engine.

The only culprit now seems like the lockup issue and i will diagnose the lockup behaviour and on off status using Techstream during drive around 30 40.

Well this seems to be tcc lockup valve stucking in valve body assy i had seen a lot of cvts with this fault i hope its only the valve body issue

The car learns your driving style. If you drive your freinds car everyday for a week, it may start doing same behaviour.

I did reset my cvt learning Values 2 times , before and after oil flush. But no effect.

About my own car i drove it like for a year without any jerk until one Normal day i changed the cvt oil and after few hundred kms and a 1000km long trip the car changed its behaviour.
