Am nearing 20k mark, have taken it to Islamabad and back to Karachi and done four Interior Sindh and one kund Malir trip in it as well. Rest has all been driven in City.
For a person coming from a sedan Corolla/City who requires a truck and not an SUV:
Comfort and creature comfort: satisfied 7/10
Engine and overall vehicle performance: very satisfied 8/10
Reliability: thoroughly satisfied 9/10
Fuel efficiency: 9/10 (my fuel average to date on tank to tank method of calculation is 9.23 km/L with 75% city driving)
Practicality (for a truck user): 9/10
Maintenance: 7/10 (if you know from where and at what price to source regular maintenance parts because dealerships rip you off. My rule, labour from dealership but regular maintenance parts and consumables to be provided by me)
In all the given options, I am convinced that Revo V is a very good choice and offers a very practical and economical option to those who want a truck for everyday use.
Hard top lid is easily available in Karachi from Hashmi as well as Optimum (Zamzama). I would recommend Optimum because of better price. Brand seen is AEROKLAS, which in my opinion is making reasonably decent hard lid tops.
For those already on Revo V I would not advise to move to the upcoming Revo despite the new engine, VSC, HDA, Push Start and some other options. Your Cruise Control offers an alternate to Hill Decent Assist by providing engine braking to maintain the set speed. Personally experienced this twice at kalar kahar. 3.0D4D VNT current engine, as personally experienced, offers more adequate performance and economy in all sorts of conditions. The local technicians are well trained on the d4d engine.
For those thinking of booking Revo now, I would advise them to wait for the new version with new engine and features. However, I would like to see at what price are these changes coming.
For Revo users who are not into drag racing or rally racing, I would strongly advise against getting the UNICHIP. The power of Revo is more than sufficient as it is. The fuel economy improvement achieved with unichip will pay you back once you have driven 75,000 kms with unichip. Think about it.
