No idea about pricing.

Revo will be upgraded to GD engine after fortuner, according to the source. When that after will come, I have no idea.

Bit confused since I was under the impression that the vehicle booking starting this month is for GD version only? Do you mean the deliveries will start in Feb and March? I am waiting to book my vehicle as soon as the booking starts but ofcourse want the upgraded engine.

Secondly 4.0 engine sounds unrealistic for our market don't you think?

4.0 engine is not popular in any market. Its the best configuration but probably represents just 2 or 3% of overall sales of all the jeeps/vans in which it is offered along with diesel and 2.7 variants. In some countries 4.0 sells a lot such as UAE and USA. I think in Pakistan it makes more sense than other markets due to duty structure, as it will make 4.0 Fortuner cheaper and better option than imported Prado 2.7.

As for Diesel, the trend varies from country to country. In Pakistan, petrol is preferred due to noise and horror stories about diesel injector failure etc. 2TR is a rock solid petrol with zero complaint.

i had Prado 4.0 V6 and Thai vigo 2.7 petrol....to be honest i will prefer 4.0 V6 Vigo over 2700cc as both were giving me same fuel average.

Yup there's not much difference in fuel efficiency main difference is in taxes and depreciation. Secondly 2.7 is so common it helps with parts and service in far flung areas.

2TR engine parts was cheap n easily available, maintenance cost is more than half of the diesel engine.

Not sure about price, but I do know it is the best option for someone with such a requirement. Am saying this because my friend got it for his old turtle pajero after the original diesel was giving too many problems. Very happy with it.

Has anyone taken out a leaf spring from both the rears to improve the ride comfort in the revo? Interested in knowing how effective this would be. Thanks.

Have had my Revo V for around a month now. Thank you to all of you who have really helped me out during the process. Have already driven 2000 KM. Took it to Murree a week ago, was a very good trip and I'm very impressed with vehicle's road grip, power and control.

Now time for the upgrades and all!

A friend has been offered choice between 3.0D and 2.7 petrol for his soon to arrive Revo. So much for 2.8d and 4.0 V6...for now at least. Lets hope other engines are launched soon.

i think 2.8 1GD wont be coming anytime next year, only in petrol.
