Both are same just badging as majority on Revo Hilux group are using shell ultra since couple of years, shell ultra 5w40 diesel packing has been introduced but not available in mkt yet. My brother is using shell ultra 5w40 on his FL-revo.

Do anyone know where to buy new leafsprings for Revo 2017 model, my Revo ride is too bouncy and harsh now and found out the oem leafsprings are flat. Btw i m running on ironman suspension and springs, should i install oem suspensions/springs back with new leafsprings? Also i really like the soft ride of my brother FL-Revo 2021 model, should i upgrade all the suspensions/springs/leafsrpings of new FL-Revo?

Hi @salik990 checkout the thread named "steps needed to improve toyota revo comfort to maximum level". There @ahsontariq has explained very well the reason for bad ride or the harsh ride. the 2016 model revo 1kd got delivered with Thai Shocks while they later on started manufacturing at Agri autos. He installed agri autos and his ride got worst. So maybe source Thai shocks and leaf springs from a kabli shop. do give a read to the thread mentioned above go towards the end of the thread to read his findings of 1yr of experience.

since i got brand new back in April 2017 the ride wasnt soft as my current FL-Revo also i had driven 2016 Thai model 2.8 1GD revo back in 2017-18 and it wasnt same as my 3.0 1kd Revo, So i dont think my Revo 2017 got the Thailand shocks and suspensions. I like to find these Agri Autos leafsprings which i think might help the jumpiness harsh ride of my revo, also i will be selling it by 2023.

Well you have the new thing so selling 1KD makes sense. Everyone complains about agri auto shocks which are quite cheap. I almost changed my front shocks but got told mine were absolutely fine and leak free. I am glad now that i didn't change. i am to keep mine at least next 5 years inshallah.

I only want to change leafsprings which is flat, had it repaired but won't last 5-10k km more as I was told to get it replaced. Do you think I should get ironman leafsprings or Agri autos oem one, since I have aftermkt shocks/suspension with greasable shackles since 2019 but the condition are great only oem leafsprings gone.

I have no personal experience with ARB but reading other peoples experiences i am certain that they make the ride even stiffer although ARB or ironmans work better while off roading. i think more research is needed. I have heard that there are certain markets where the leaf spring specialists do only leaf springs. Maybe get a kabli as you have to sell it next year. If i had to change i would research how to custom make softer leaf springs for revo. Hope you find best solution. If you dont wanna take the headache then get the agri auto leaf springs. They won't make the ride worst at least.

AOA. Thinking of buying a Revo for the very first time. Most probably used. Can anyone please tell me about the timeline of how things changed in Revo. When was the engine changed to 1GD. any other minor or major changes from 2016 till now?

2016 onwards came till early 2018 it was with 1KD, then 1GD came but with same body shape. In 2021 facelift with improved performance (50Nm torque) came along with improved seats (Black color), then few months later minor upgrades like parking sensors etc were added along with a Rocco variant.

Only go for 1GD, you will love the drive and power along with better fuel economy compared with 1KD.

From 2016-2017, it came with 1KD 3.0L without push start and button on door handle type entry and with front bonnet hood scoop. From 2018-2021 start, engine was changed to 1GD 2.8L with push start and without hood scoop. Rear vents were inconsistent being in some and not in some. In 2021, facelift came with black seats and upgraded 1GD with 200 HP and 500 nm torque with more comfortable suspension according to owners. Rocco variant was introduced in 2022 with dual zone climate control and parking sensors and some other cosmetic changes such as rims, rollbar, bumper etc. I may have missed some so any other person is welcomed to correct me.

Auto diff lock was added in facelifted 1GD, end 2021. New rims as well.

My car didnt come with one and i would very much like to have it. I downloaded the hilux manual from website but it doesn't have data for 1KD. Any help will be appreciated.

Hello usman, Things to look for for include the following:
1- for engine health check blow by as mileage reversal is a common thing in pakistan. A good mechanic can diagnose excessive blowby for you.
2- Check if they seller has kept up with maintenance, Maintenance receipts etc. If they claim to have them, ask them to show you as once you fancy a car you may forget that this step is very important.
3- Try a car that has not been modified as an unmolested car is always better.
4- Check for oil leakage issues thoroughly. look from within the engine bay and from underneath as well.
5- Revo is a solid car but due to hard shocks and rough driving there maybe rattles so check if its not been in a bad way.Also check for crash signs.
6- A car this new should have no seepage issues of any kind.
7- try all the 4x4 options and make sure they engage.
The token of lahore registered car is 29k per year and 10k of that is refundable as w.h.t.
Maintenance cost will be on the higher side as the oil needs replacing earlier 2500- 3000k kms and there is a lot of it.
It needs a fuel filter at every 20k mileage
above re additional costs, all other costs are comparable with gasoline engine cars.
Maybe i am missing something that a fellow pakwheeler can guide .
Oh, and fuel consumption is 9-10 with moderate foot and upto 11 in city with light foot.

Do notice tire condition and if they are original then you negotiate based on their condition to knock a few lacks.
Also a higher mileage car can have injector issues but its not very common with such new models. Dirty injectors will mean that the car tik tik sound will be louder than others.
