The double-wishbone front suspension has a new thicker front stabiliser bar to increase roll stiffness. The front axle load capacity now allows for a bull bar and a winch.

The leaf-spring rear suspension has been redesigned with longer leafs, wider spacing of the springs and revised attachment points. At 1400mm the new rear springs are 100mm (or 8%) longer hence more compliant in absorbing bumps, while the front attachment point has been moved forward by 100mm (another 8%) and lowered by 25mm in a key geometry change that improves steering response. The leaf springs are also mounted 50mm further apart. The Revo also has a slightly wider rear track than the VIGO. Previously the rear track (distance between rear left and right tires) was smaller than the front track. Now both are equal hence reducing (though not eliminating) risk of rear skid-rolling.

There?s also uprated larger-diameter shock absorbers all round, with damping curves calibrated for a flat ride and less impact harshness. The larger-diameter cylinders enable these shocks to generate increased control, with a shorter stroke to cope better with smaller vibrations and larger oil capacity to combat heat fade.

The rear shocks also have a new location. Previously rear-facing and located behind the axle, they are now forward-facing and mounted in front of the axle, to improve straight-line stability and service life.

All the above changes/modifications in the new Revo (SR5 in Australia), have significantly improved the ride quality. Toyota Australia went back to the drawing board and spent 6 long years to come up with the above re-engineering and the results, without a doubt, are commendable.

Moreover, in comparison to the Vigo (previous model), the Revo has 52mm more ground clearance (279mm vs 227mm). Greater approach angle of 31 degrees (vs 30). Greater departure angle of 26 degrees (vs 23). Lower crawl ratios. 700mm (2.3 feet) wading depth.

The off-road performance of the rear suspension has also been improved as compared to that of Vigo, by increasing rear-wheel articulation to 570mm on both sides of the vehicle, which were previously 423mm on the left and 474mm on the right.

Drove Revo today and it's leaps ahead to Vigo...
Installed Unichip & it turned into a monster with 90hp upgrade ..a must have Chip.
Can't upload videos or pics ... app upgrade is not good.

Unichip doesn't increase 90hp on stock engine, u need to get bolt-on parts to produce 90hp more. On stock motor it can push another 50hp without bolt-on parts, i have spokes to unichip guy n dyno'd my car there as well.
Will be booking Revo this month but i dont know which color to go for

I agree regarding Unichip's impact. With respect to color, it really depends on your own liking/taste. From a "making-a-statement" perspective, I believe, the Hilux Revo in itself is enough to make a statement. Going for Red, for me, was an overkill and just "not me". Black, though looks good after a good cleaning and detailing session - is a nightmare to maintain.

I really like the black color but since i own one black car it is nightmare for my drivers and keep it clean everytime wen i take it to factory site area where its too much dust/dirt. I m thinking of silver or grey in Hilux Revo

Hi, just took delivery of my Revo yesterday. Got about 10-10.2 km/l on the Lahore-Islamabad motorway yesterday while driving at a constant 130 km/h.

28 psi tire pressure, two small bags in the deck.

Will be going for FFS very soon as well as the car has already done about 550 kms.

Previous car was a 2005 Vigo.
This drives way better.

Drove ReVo and its an uncontrollable monster at map stage 5 having all 90+162= 252bhp available at the slightest touch of the paddle- tails & drifts OMG! Seriously miss traction control and better wide tyres.
At map stage 4 it sprints 0-100 in 8secs with 70 horses on top.
By the way getting the Fortuner tuned-the first one!

Fortuner 2.7 dual vvti will hardly push another 15-20hp on higher rpm, only turbo engine can push more power thru tuning

But Revo this time is one hell of value and Unichip has done a miracle to make it a monster yet fuel efficient at a reasonable cost to upgrade. ...will share all details.
A mouth watering and thrilling drive just was breath taking with Unichip. ..miles better than any Vigo and way ahead in power torque deliverance to 2.8GD thai variant stock which costs 6 good millions.
