Having driven the Revo for over a month now, In stock condition, I can share my experience that when I step (fully) on the pedal on tarmac, from a stand-still position, the existing HPs are enough to swerve the rear end with the driver having to struggle to keep the truck in a straight line. With the added HPs, it'll be an even more uncontrollable vehicle putting the lives of it's passengers at serious risk. Fuel efficiency-wise, the vehicle gives between 9km/ltr to 10km/ltr and this I'm sharing after four tank refills with both city and highway driving involved. I've heard that the efficiency will improve after a few thousand kilometres. This fuel efficiency is pretty decent already.
I've now driven the Revo in mud, beach sand, desert sand (on way to Ormara), 24+ inches of water, 40 degree inclines and I have not once felt it lacking in power.
I reiterate what I mentioned earlier. It might be useful only for rally drivers OR show-offs (pronounced shoudas). For all others, this is nothing but waste of money. One can use their hard-earned money on quality bull-bar, U-box and additional LED bars. Those who drive in wet conditions might consider changing the tyres which come with the vehicle, since the current ones don't perform well in wet conditions.
Lastly, having worked for IMC myself in the past I felt compelled to call up a few ex-colleagues there and the feedback I've received directly from the "technical" personnel there is not to tamper with the vehicles electronics / ECU settings, especially in relation to getting a chip installed.
My humble advice to everyone is to stay away from Chipping their stock Hilux. If the itch is severe, at least wait till you've driven at least 5,000 kms yourself and then decide.
