Toyota Hilux Vigo Champ 2013 (Pakistan) is it stil prejudiced like the previous model

Today i would like to discuss the

New Toyota Hilux Vigo Champ 2013.

i still remember i was in pakistan when it was launched about a year back, banners and promotions were flashing throught pakistan for the long awaited vehicle.

i dont think no other vehicle speaks of the true culture of pakistan then the Toyota hilux it has been a trend long before "Indus corolla" set its foot in Pakistan.

when i was a kid i can recall the toyota hilux SS-R double door being in style, then came in the vigo now its the champ.

with the vigo we saw a lot of people preffering the thailand version over the local version. and a lot of imports were made from uk as well.

i would like to know from you guys what is the perseption with this new model is it still suffering from the same mentality of thai vigo is better then the local or is it ok to go ahead with the local purchase.

i think i am a potential buyer and in the pick up segamnt it is the only truck sucessfull in pakistan.

price of a fully loaded one is 3300000 pkr question is it worthed at this price.

and i want to know has the pakistani perception changed towards the localy manufactured one.

what are the negative and positive sides towards owning 1.

hopefully waiting to hear some constructive criticism towards this new model

finish of champ sux , its just nt worth it , it has the same 2.5 litre engine n no intercooler !
nt a gud engine n underpowered !
just luk at da finish of its paintjob n front bumper , even pkdm corolla has a better finish

yer i dont i think ur reffering to the base model non 4wd version

the fully loaded has a 3.0 L fully automatic intercooled turbo engine

paint ofcourse u cant compare to the japaneses paint

but i think the car has got some good reviews

i dont think so PKDM vigo champ comes in 3.0 L intercooled turbo engine its just 2.4 D4D turbo diesel engine!! G grade is fully loaded version!!

Its true that the Vigo Champ has 2.5 liter 2KD-FTV turbo charged common rail engine with a four speed auto transmission, though it may be under powered for some but it definitely serves its purpose. A cousin of mine has taken to northern areas three times as mony months with out even the single problem. Though some of the things like fog lamps seats fabric are typical after market style but all in all its a very reliable and nice looking machine

I'm owner of thai vigo 2007 model. When champ was launched. went to check it out on dealership. Seriously Thai one is much better than this new. Interior, finishing, engine in all aspects. Thai vigo is better.
It's like you are comparing horse with pony.

Thai vigo is 3.0 D4D turbo. which is powerful and fun to drive with AT transmission. Pick and response of thai vigo is unmatched.
Both cars (Thai,champ) has zero comfort level when unloaded.
Rest it's your own choice.

my boss purchased 2 new champs when it was launched to be used on protocol behind a new cygnus, porsche cayyene turbo s, range rover HSE sport v8, 765li, s550, etc both screwed up in 6 months had a thai variant with a covered bed turbo timer leather interior 3.0 at ect transmission before the only problem with that is after driving on pakistani diesel for a year which has a high sulfur content the injectors need to be replaced chinese cost 70000 genuine cost 125000 go for the genuine ones and youll be fine with both pick and fuel avg both have the same fuel avg but thai version is decently faster while being more comfortable my vote goes to the thai version

i think the impot duty for 4x4 pick ups is low ..due to there use in farming and comercial use..
