Toyota Hilux Without ABS

Can anyone tell a single car model make even the cheapest one assembled in Japan after 1995 not equipped with ABS, It happens only in Pakistan.

mostly basic n business package cars don't have abs even in japan

I bought 2.OD Saloon in 2004 and replced shocks in warranty twice,replaced the air cleaner box in warranty twice,replaced the back view mirror as it used to have vibration and things appeared and still appears blurred.

Then after one and a half year I noticed that out of the four tyres on my corolla, 3 are 185/65 R14 and one was 175/70 R14, infact I noticed this after a month or so but I didnt actually see the size written on tyres as I thought it might be my mistake and how could indus motors do such a blunder.Car was out of warranty period and also mileage was more than the specified for warranty but even then I got my tyre replaced through indus islamabad office despite their repeated sayings that I may have changed the tyre but I told them that I havent done so.And they have to replace it for me.

I also wrote to Toyota Japan before that for the air filter noise/back view mirror issue and then indus Islamabad branch called me and were then saying dont do that we are here to help you and so on.........

I still have the corolla with me , very well maintained and managing with its dangerous braking system sometimes it skids even at 40km/hour with very gentle braking in third gear and I dont know what will happen if I ever apply forceful brakes at 140km/hour speed(although I very rarely drive at that speed even on motorway) hahahhahahahaha......

They are selling substandard cars but there is no system in place to check them and their Japanese counterparts are also involved with them as they know that they can make Pakistanis fool and that they are not accountable to any system in place in Pakistan to check their quality.....

I somehow agree with @2c.
although my car has ABS, its not always an option to steer car away from your death due to reaction time (in abs equipped cars). you need to have good understanding of you cars weight and its affect on braking system. thats all!

There was no ABS in imported Lancer and it was optional in partially-assembled Sunny. Civic Exi did not have it. In Liana, Corolla 1.3 have it as an option.

IMC cannot be taken to task easily as all Japanese cars assemblers have a strong lobby or cartel and they grease the right palms befittingly in bureaucracy and top political leadership.

Even if someone drags them into consumer courts, they can influence the court officials judges very easily so the case will be dismissed or gather dust in record room for ages.

However, if you are really serious in getting the car assemblers to sell cars with proper safety features like ABS, Airbags, Seat belts, then catch hold of your local MNA and persuade him/her to move a private member bill in assembly bringing changes into Motor Vehicle Ordinance/Act that all cars made, imported in Pakistan must have ABS, Airbags and Seat belts and see how bureaucracy shoots it down saying it would not be possible as the car prices would rise by two three lakhs further.

this is for a reason.. as the hilux is considered to be a work horse for rough work, it is made simplier so tht it can be fixed n maintained anywhere with minimum technology... remember the less the wires, the more the realibility.. this is one of the main reasons

thats social dilema then..as we know a/t cars in USA/Europ/Middle east have more value and resale as compared to manual totally opposite to Pakistani market..

true a/t will always have more value over m/t in this part of the world but its a personal thing i cannot drive a/t with more confidence over m/t

even when i went for my driving test i passed it right away when examiner saw an m/t rest was just gup shup
