Toyota land cruiser 1994 duplicate file

Hello, I am in negotiations to purchase a Toyota Land Cruiser with a duplicate file. I have been told by few people that its not safe to purchase a duplicate file jeep as it will not be sell able in the future by me.
Just wanted to know your opinions or personal experience in this matter. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I’ve got no personal experience but it is true that a vehicle with duplicate documents is difficult to sell as most buyers look for original documents. In my opinion it doesn’t matter in any way other than the resale thing and in the end one has to sell it at lower price than the market price of vehicle just to get it sold. According to this logic you must already be buying at a lower rate and if that’s the case than your vehicle’s price might not depreciate at all... so it’s all up to you

As I already said I have no personal experience so can’t really tell. There probably won’t be any if you have the original owner of the car in direct contact.

i'd not recommend a Land Cruiser with a duplicate file even if you are wearing any uniform or a serving grade 17 federal govt employee.

Agreed, with the situation I faced with custom officials 2 days back (even after having original documentations) I won’t recommend anyone to buy a car without its original documents.

Never go for a body-on-frame vehicle with duplicate or missing documentation. Never ever. Even for free.
