Toyota Land Cruiser FACELIFT / Conversion - Owner Reviews wanted

Hi Guys,

I'm looking to purchase a Land Cruiser (98-02) model, and get it converted / facelifted to LC300. Cost of car is approx 50/70 lac, and 40/45 for facelift, so total 1cr/1.2cr.

My question is for those who have had one done, what is it like, I need owner reviews, any issues / faults, any regrets?

I remember the old saying, "shalwar kameez thalay jogger". You're trying to do the same with this vehicle.

Would rather recommend to get one of these and spend like 10-15 lacs into pure restoration or get it lifted and have fun off-roading. It will never drive the same as originally designed for and you will always feel something’s wrong with the vehicle but deep inside you would be in guilt for spending that much and still not being happy.

I very much appreciate your advise guys. I have a 2017 Civic already. I’m a stay in UK and only visit Pakistan for 2 months every year, I thought maybe purchasing a facelift would give me the “show shaa” feeling without spending soo much money. I thought maybe 1cr was better than 3/4. What do you think?

you can figure it out by looking at such vehicles that something is off with them. they look like adha teetar adha batair type just from the looks, leaving aside any performance issues. on similar lines people are now converting mehrans into altos. for 1 crore shashka I would recommend to buy a 2nd hand fortuner in good nick.

You are looking for throwing away monies, like mercedes chop shops in rwp are doing taxi class mercedes conversion to AMG by using scrapyard items

Maybe you'll impress some of your relatives from pind , but anyone with a real 200 or 300 would know in an instant and THEY WILL LAUGH AT YOU and call you a wannabe .

I think the problem is your too much focused on impressing others rather than having fulfillment from within on your achievements.

Sorry for sounding harsh but someone had to say it.

My advise I'd rather get a 2017-2018 Fortuner and get its legender conversion from market .Its a simple, same generation facelift with just bumpers fenders & lights replacement which can reverted at any time
You'll get to enjoy a newer model proper SUV in its original fittings without worrying about mechanical issues and you'll get the SUV feeling with its ground clearance

It'd be a nice addition alongside your civic.
