Toyota Passo 2007 Reverse Gear Big Bang

Hi Guys,

I got Passo 2007 Model. Its engine replaced 3 months ago. Previous engine was smooky, burning engine oil and also poor pick on steep routes.

After the engine replacement, the only abnormality I felt is revese gear start giving big bang, real powerful jerk which shakes the entire car body.

This wasnt the case when the old engine was there. very very slight jerk.

I checked with same machine who did the engine replacement. His opinion is to replace the gear box.

No issue with P/N/D/2/L, D is as smooth as new car. Probelm is only R, sometimes R doesnt even engage and if I press the accelerator it again gives a really big bang.

Any suggestions / Advice highly will be appreciated

Reverse clutch is worn out and will go to vacations if not replaced in time. Best option is to find a good working trasnmission from scrap and install it repair jobs would be lot expensive than finding a scrap gearbox..
