Toyota Passo 2011 Brake issue

Assalam o Alaikum,

I have Toyota Passo 2011 2WD with 130k on the odometer. Since 2 months, I am facing a problem in the Brake Pedal. Whenever I cross a bump, speed breaker, cat eyes or a pothole, the brake pedal gets floored. Then if I park the car and push the hand brake pedal to engage it and then release it, the brake pedal comes back to its normal working.

I have got the following checklist done:-

1. Checked master cylinder/ servo cylinder and it had spots in it so got it changed. First got one from Bilal Ganj and it showed same issue so bought a brand new original part and installed it. Issue is still there.
2. Changed disc pads and brake shoes (not related but informing). Issue is still there.
3. Got the brake bleeding done and changed the fluid to Seiken Dot 3. Issue is still there.
4. Got the ABS serviced and again got the bleeding done. Issue is still there.
5. Rear drum adjusts appeared worn out so got them replaced. Issue is still there.
6. Scanned the car and there is not electronic fault in the sensors. Even had a reset of each sensor but issue is still there.

The only thing remaining is changing the ABS but again I have no assurity if it will resolve the issue. Please guide me as it is very annoying as I dont trust my car brakes now!

Return of the pedal is caused by return springs attached to the pedal for this purpose. The piston return springs in the master cylinder will also aid the return of the pedal to some extent.

Therefore, if the pedal does not return after it is pressed, it can be due to various reasons such as breakage of pedal return spring, and jamming of the pivot joint (by rust or deposit of mud) around which the pedal rotates.

pull out the abs fuse and try to rule it out
you covered all corners otherwise

Arslan the Pedal returns to its normal position (its not theb issue) but it doesnt work in the usual way. Brakes do not engage at the normal position.

What will it do if i pull the ABS fuse out so that I can check accordingly as per expectation!

that wil help you figure out or rule out if issue is related to ABS or not

@hash4u thanks mate. Can you now tell me which fuse to take out as there is no reference on which fuse is for ABS Sorry ?

There are 2 points where ABS1 and ABS2 is written. Which one to remove please?

i believe the higher Amp one shoud disengage the abs
ABS1
abs light would obvious be on while its plugged out
car shld do a screeching halt on hard braking, not the dug dug grind sound while ABS disengaged

Sir, this is classic problem of Toyota Passo ABS unit leaking pressure. My passo had this issue too. It started with just like what you are saying. I also changed master cylinder and all. In the end I had to replace ABS with kabli unit to fix the issue permanently.

Taking ABS fuse will not fix / solve the issue. The brake pressure still goes through ABS so it will still leak pressure if unit is faulty. If you pump the brake a few times - pressure is again maintained for next few mins/hours

@sk_cooldayz thanks brother for confirming. I took out the abs fuse but its a combined fuse so removing it made my power steering in a POWERFULL TRUCK WALA steering. Khair anyways ABS unit's mechanical part is the one i need to change now. Do you remember how much it costed you?

It was around 9,000 in pindi from sadar for my 2007 model passo.
