I went to get alignment done of my passo and guy there saif that its left control arm has bended and needs to be changed. Car was hit last month
How much will it cost to change it?
The guy there quoted me 5000/- for changing control arm with a kabuli one and including wheel alignment.

Hi! Brothers!! I have toyota passo since 4 years its 2008 model 1.0 liter!! When it was new it gave me good fuel eco like 10+km/l but now it only gives 8.5+-kmpl and almost 270 kms in full tank ! Spark plugs are replaced recently iridium denso ! Engine oil Toyota Engine oil 20~50W ! Air filter replaced ! AND also the level of engine oil gets lower sometimes! I have catalytic converter removed! Gear box swapped because once slipped due to leakage of tranny oil so what should be the solution ! Also i hear a strange vibrating noise when idling with AC on or at high rpm un 1st or 2nd gears! Opinions of experts required! Jazak Allah

Assalamoalaikum. I went to Toyota Rawal for 40k service of my Passo. I bought oil and filters etc earlier from Mehran Auto (saddar) as Toyota 3S are expensive. They refused to do the service unless I buy items from them. It is against their so called SOPs. Can any one please suggest some good place In Rawalpindi /Islamabad region for 40k service?

Finally a part of the Toyota Passo club!

This is a 2013 Passo X Kutsurogi. Mileage was 11k kms,3.5 exterior grade and B for interior. Auction sheet was verified, courtesy of @DrUsmanNawaz
Coming from a manual 660cc Alto, it is a very welcome change. The 1000cc engine is powerful enough and the drive is very smooth and refined, thanks to CVT. There is a very decent amount of legroom for passengers in the back, will be very comfortable for long journeys.
Will be sharing the fuel average later when I get it refilled again.

What type of service you are looking for ?
Like for Simple Oil Change etc you can go to any Dealership like if you are using Shell or ZIC you can go to their dealership and it wont cost you anything except the items and they are also good in what they do.

Yes Toyota 3S wont do your work when you give them your items they say that its Cheap in the Market cause its Fake lol.

Thanks for your reply. I am looking for engine oil change(using Liqui Moly 5w30), Cvt oil, brake oil change. It is prudent to get it changed from Toyota 3S as local mechanics can wreak havoc. As Toyota Rawal has refused I am looking for some good place where these Japanese cars are frequently dealt with.

i believe they are good in what they do.

OR you can go to G8 Markaz Workshop, Islamabad - i dont exactly know the name of the Workshop but all these Japanese cars services work is done there.
And also i have heard that near Melody Market, Islamabad there is a Japanese car workshop which is good if anyone from Islamabad can confirm the exact address please.

Hi,
I have recently purchased Passo 2007 installed tyres are 85/65R14.

I wanted to stick to same size i.e 185/65R14 but want to have the best tyres available from Isb/Pindi/Pesh Markets.
75% of my car use is Site to Hometown weekend travelling of 110 KM on a well paved road and I rarely cross 100.
Plz suggest best option (Brand) available.

I am new here at the Passo/Boon Owners Fan club. I bought a 2014 Passo for my son in Feb 2016. It is a nice car. Well designed small on the outside but very roomy on the inside. The car is fitted with an eco idle feature. This feature is rather moody. Sometimes it works with a green A encircled with an arrow and sometimes it gives a fault warning by a flashing orange A encircled with an arrow. I took the car to Toyota GT where they had all the correct software to deal with this car. The technician told me that the battery was weak (I had put in a new battery in March 2016 - a month after I bought the car). As per the technician the system monitors the battery voltage, If it thinks that the battery is weak and will not be able to restart the car automatically, it disables the eco idle feature. Two questions here:

1 - Is this problem experienced by other having this feature?

2 - If your car is not suffering from this problem, then what battery are you using?

After reading the whole thread of about Passo, I have successfuly bought a 2014 Passo.
I just need to know a little about the gears abbreviations of passo, I have searched alot but found different confusing answers on google.
I want to know about the B and S gear,, for which purpose they are used?
Also, when going up and coming down from Monal,, which gear should be used? B, S or D ?
Can I change the gear from D to B or S and back to D without pressing the brake?

Islamabad. No there is much weight in what they are saying about battery voltage because i myself saw the battery voltage readout on the laptop connected to the OBD II port and the battery voltage history stored in the ECU memory was as low as 6.5V in one instance.

I have edited this post and added the following:

Not happy with the situation I did a bit of research and found that these auto stat cars have SPECIAL batteries. I didn't know about this so foolishly I replaced the original Panasonic battery with a local one from AGS.

I first went and found the online parts catalog to find out the correct battery for this car: http://japan-parts.eu/toyota/jp/2014/passo/kgc35-aheck/2_113130_003_D75G/electrical/8201_battery-battery-cable

This lists 3 batteries for auto start cars:

1 - GS M-42
2 - Panasonic M-42
3 - Shin Kobe M-42.

I then googled these batteries and found that these batteries are specifically designed for auto start cars: http://www.panasonic.hk/english/products/living/car-battery/caos-pro-maintenance-free-car-battery-(jis-for-stop-start-vehicle)/n-m42r-as-(38ah).aspx. So to cut a long story short. Passo with auto start or eco idle feature is very sensitive to the battery. My next search will be to get the correct battery.

Congratulations on your purchase. The gear markings are:

D = Drive
S = Sport (similar to 3rd in a manual car)
B = Braking (basically this is low gear such as 2nd in a manual car)

You can move beween D/S/B while the car is moving. However going to B at high speed may cause gear damage. Just like in a manual transmission you shouldn't go to 2nd gear while doing, say, 100km/h. That's just asking for trouble.

The B range of the transmission is used while descending hilly roads. There is some amount of engine braking effect which reduces the amount of braking required by the foot brake.

i replaced mine jdm battery with pheonix dry one localmade and it went fine for an year but now eco idle has stopped working, on diagnose i found battery voltage error(see attached)
