Hello fellows i have 2 questions regarding passo, plz guide / help me.

I have passo 2010 , i want to put alloy rims in it.
My 1st choice is original 14inch rims which comes with hana

Or should i go for any good brand 15inch rims ?

I want to increase my ground clearance also as i want to travel to northern areas soon.

Which one should i go for and will my steering get harder if i put allow rims ?

Go for 14inch ones. Original ones would be the best thing if you can find them. Increase the tyre size with them.

What’s the point here in suggesting same size with larger width tyres...

Wider tyre having same height percentage will be taller i-e for example 175/65/14 will be taller than 165/65/14 (these tyre sizes are just for explanation purpose).

Bro, try to be realistic here and support your point with logic.

The person in question wants to install Alloy rims to replace his steel wheels for better looks and style. If stock wheel size is 14”, he can go for 15” and 16” easily. Bigger rims with small side wall to compensate for bigger rims will look awesome. If he is spending money, advise him to buy bigger rims. What’s the use of spending money to buy same size rims.

Bro, when you install bigger rims instead of stock size, your ultimate target is to fit tyres that brings the total wheel diameter to stock wheel size. Meaning, you then install tyres with smaller side wall to compensate for the increase in rim size. There is a limit to this as well and that is 3%. Do not go beyond this and you will have no issues with steering as well. Always take off-set into consideration when buying upsized rims.

I have installed 17” rims on my Vitz 2013 model with out any issues after proper calculations. The stock wheel size for Vitz 1.0 is 14”.

Thanks, i have heard that vits suspension is way better then passo and can handle bigger rims.
But passo can't handle even more then 14. People are complaining even if they put 15.

Do the steering become harder when you had put these 17inch ?
Or no effect ?

Mostly people are using 13" rims. Hana comes in 14 that sets the upper limit. It seems risky to use use other sizes. Company sets standards after appropriate calculations and violating these recommendations can be hazardous. Having said this some very sharp and knowledgeable persons can calculate and judge the feasibility of using other sizes(though not very reliable) . Not everyone is capable of this.

Please try to understand that every vehicle can go 2 steps ahead of stock wheel size, which is normal and is globally done.

For example, 15” can go till 17”, 13”can go till 15”, 16” can go till 18” and so on.

But the tires installed are low profile tires with theses large diameter rims such that the total wheel diameter stays close to stock wheel diameter size.

Like in my case, I have used 205/40 r17 tires on my 17” alloy rims. This low profile tire selection brings my total wheel diameter to very close of stock wheel dia meter with only 0.5 inch increase. So, no issue with fuel economy, diving and steering.

He wants to increase the ride height. larger aspect ratio tyre on a 14inch rim will acheive that goal. I shared a link also which explains what aspect ratio is. aur konsi logic dun bhai apko?

These are worlds famous brand Enkei GTC 01 made in Japan.

Bought it from Dubai. It’s not available in 14”. Too small size....

You can go ahead with bigger Rims. Do your research on this. Do not relay on people in this forum who are limited them selves to 14” only rims. Think about 16”. I can help you with all the calculations. Do your own calculations. Study and learn calculations. People at this forum have very less knowledge about rims up-grades. They suggest bigger side walls to people here to increase vehicle height. Once they mess up with what they have done, they limit them selves to 13 and 14”. For these guys, Installing a 15” wheel as replacement for 13” is bad for suspension, steering and what ever. They also think that suspension is hard/ heavy on Vitz and soft/fragile on Passo. Sorry, but this is our thinking mostly here at this forum.
