My passo 2013 is giving an average of 8km/l in city with AC. Is it normal?

Not normal. Plenty of things to check too if you want to improve:
Condition during driving matters a lot for fuel efficiency. If your commute is usually stop and go or short intervals then this is pretty good average, if not then lets move onto the next aspect.

Do you drive with a heavy foot? Try hypermiling on the next fill and see if that makes a difference.

Next comes car health:

1. Check the catalytic is it choked? Does it get red hot after 5 minute drive? Better check this at night as it is more visible.
2. Throttle body is clean? What about the plugs? Basically check and get them all cleaned where air flows like the intake, filter, throttle body. A faulty MAP sensor usually throws a CEL so have the car diagnosed as well.
3. What oil are you using? Thicker viscosity oils tend to decrease fuel efficiency but are better for worn out internals. Recommended oil is 0w 20 but people normally use 5w 30 as that is cheaper and easily available.
4. Also while you can test it is the car pinging a lot under load? Fuel quality also affects fuel economy.
5. I will be getting this done soon so would recommend it as well. Get the EGR valve checked. Passos have an EGR valve Vitz usually have a PCV valve. If this gets choked oil builds up in your crank case and becomes sludge and you do not want that.

All in all these are excellent cars if you drive them with a light foot. 1krs do not like a heavy foot.

Note: Getting 18 km/l on a 2013 Boon with mainly city road commute with AC.

EGR and PCV are two completely different things. Either/or wala scene nhi hota

My bad. I believe you are correct. So I guess both need to be checked and/or replaced.

Mine is 2014 Facelift and it is giving 11km/l with Ac. I am using Zic 5W/20..

had CAT, THROTTLE,COMPRESSION RATIO checked which leaves us with a doubt of a faulty MAP sensor, i want to know if its right and how much would it cost to replace it or should i clean it first and give it a try

To check MAP sensor - keep your car on ignition switch but engine off. Check the MAP sensor value. At engine off - manifold pressure should be same as atmospheric pressure of air.

Usually in city vitz/passo should give 10-11km/L with AC. Stop n go traffic.

But if you have really pathetic traffic and use very hard pedal it can drop a bit further..

To get good avg, first of all use 0w20 engine oil.
New Air and AC filter.
Clean throttle body, intake manifold.
Check condition of spark plugs. Change only if deteriorated.

Fill some hi octane. Go on highway, and press full paddle go really hard on it and speed it up for like 50km. It will Clean up catalytic converter.

Use liqui moly fuel system cleaner.

Should improve things.

If using genuine toyota 0w20 or 5w30 oil, API SN, it should be fine.

Bought 5w30 can for 5500 rs,zic was for 4900 rs, will check its performance.

My passo was reducing oil, today I went for an oil change I asked mechanic to check whether oil is leaking or not he's saying that it's leaking from seal of engine joining gear box? Is he right?, or hes just fooling around?
