I want to change my toyota passo 2008 head assembly.. Kindly suggest where can i get head assembly in Rawalpindi in reasonable price and 100% genuine less used.. Also suggest the price.. Help in this regard will be deeply appreciated.. And kindly also guide that only head assembly should be replaced?? or complete engine should be swapped?? without gear as the gear is is ingood condition

You can surely get the head assembly of your Passo from Chah Sultan, Rawalpindi.
The best way is to get the quote from 2-3 shops to get the best price.

Engine sound too high.. Clocked around 138k.. Crankshaft sound also i think.. Loss in power.. Engine vibration.. Pick issue.. Using 20w50 oil

That is the issue i have.. That they say its genuine and 0 meter engine never repaired etc but i have no belief on them at all thats why i want to have enough knowledge before purchasing

Hmmm... Your engine seems massively deteriorated, and swapping just the head assembly might not work, if crankshaft has also malfunctioned.

Please go for complete swapping, or preferably, rebuild / overhaul from some competent mechanic / garage, using genuine / OEM parts, and as per stock, factory specs.

I want to have a complete swap apart from the gear as ut is working perfectly fine.. And rebuild is costing too much so thats why i want a swap but issue is in finding a perfect engine

Agreed! But IMO, rebuild / overhaul is the most preferable option, if competent mechanics are there.

Irrespective of budget (i.e. comparing its cost with a used engine), a rebuild / overhaul if done nicely (i.e. as per terms & conditions mentioned above), it generally lasts longer, come with warranty and peace of mind.

Seems like you have piston slap too? Knocking like sound when engine is cold and at low rpm? Is engine reducing oil and giving smoke at 3000+ rpm?

I also have a passo 2007 and also in same boat as you. I am also thinking of going for engine swap instead of going for overhaul. Mostly mechanics use chinese parts in overhaul to save cost. Original Japanese parts are very expensive. Secondly even when using original parts, mechanics normally don't have good tools to do the job properly. Better if one can find a reasonable engine with some warranty

i am no expert of kabli engine but these r few things i will check
- remove oil pan and see if the bolts holding crank have tool marks .. meaning the crank has been removed and reinstalled
- check a few clearances near crank like thrust washer bearing play .. it wil give an idea of usage of engine
- check plugs for assessing the chamber condition
- compression test all cylinders

it all requires a good mechanic to check engine instead of kabli engine shop owner who has just received an engine as it is and only washed it from outside .. or a shop owner who has totally reassembled engine from used parts .. both will claim that their engine is perfect

Yes there is alot lot of noise when engine is cold which reduces with time but still exist and yes there is heavy smoke on high rpm.. And i don't think its reducing oil

I have actually seen people at IJP road, fixing scrap engines (with scrap parts).

I guess they sell those engines as Kabli. So i second this

Better to search for an engine that was not locally assembled.
There's always a difference in manifolds or some sensors like egr to differentiate engines.
