Toyota Passo rattling noise on accelerration

I own a toyota passo 2013. Just wanted to check if someone else is also facing this issue. Whenever I slowly accelerate the car, a rattling sound is observed, probably between 2nd and 3rd gear speed shift. It only lasts for about 5-6 secs. But I wanted to ask if its normal or something's fishy with my car? Doesn't happen when you floor the accelerator, only happens if your accelerating slowly!

This is caused by bad fuel and air mixture. The car is not burning fuel efficiently hence causing a knock. The 3rd class quality of the fuel is to blame as well. Change the fuel to HiOctane in an empty tank and then try to observe the sound.

it requires great mental handicap to be so privy of solving RATTLING problem by greasing BELT ...

rattle & squeak are 2 different phenomena figure it out

check for transmission fluid, transmission rattle shall be variable at different speeds because of CVT,

intermittent Squeak / Squeal at shifting is most likely due to low or bad transmission fluid.

Are you threatening him? if not than please mention the technical reason of greasing he belt.

Greasing the serpentine belt?.

So you would like this user to be stranded. I dont recall any procedure by any belt manufacturer involving grease on the belt.

The belt and its tensioner are probably bad, if the tensioner is rattling.

But first why not actually ask if the rattle is from thr tensioner

because for a layman its a DIY thing
my car was making the same sound while shifting into eco mode
i could not figure out the exact area of problem and i used a finger tip of grease on the belt and the sound stopped
i just went to the mechanic next day and got the belt tightened up a bit (the belt itself was in good condition)
and the noise was gone for good

dont ever use grease on a belt, it can cause it to be thrown off. If you are really hard pressed on putting something on it then use some toothpaste, it gives enough bite to the belt and doesnt affect the rubber on it.

grease literally eats the rubber.

Yes it eats the rubber as well as increases the slip.......

Another temporary sol is pouring little water on the belt and then putting black board chalk in between pulley and belt......

and yes probably it is the tensioner as these cars left standing on the ports for months so who knows where rust and corrosion embedded.

till now, I am guessing that the problem is with tensioner pully...
