Toyota Passo Reducing 1Ltr Engine Oil in 1500Km

Hello Dear Friends,

I need your expert advise on Passo Engine Oil issue,

I am having Passo 2010 bought Locally at 92000km, till now 1,00,000 KM driven.
All initial services done (Tuning, Engine Oil, Air Filter, Gear Oil, O2 Sensor Cleaned, Throttle Cleaned, Sparks Plugs Changed Iridium, Catalytic Cleaned).

Satisfied with Fuel Economy at 40/60 Ratio HOBC, giving average of 16-17Km/L (Non AC) in City

Initially I am using ZicA+ 5W20, but on my second oil change Mechanic Suggest ZicA 10w40 as engine is reducing oil at the ratio of 1Ltr/1500km but it is still reducing oil at the same rate.

Please advice me what i can do with this issue....
Car run around 150km on daily basis

Check the PCV valve for blockage. Clean or Ideally replace it with new one and then observe. It is located near the injectors and air filter usually. Not sure about Passo one.

Is it producing black smoke?

compression test is required to ascertain leaky valve or rings.

No black smoke noticed, as such silencer drops water-droplets.......

I am old school guy, this JDM car is new for me - learning it slowly, it is much better if you suggest me a good mechanic in Islamabad for checkup........

in islamabad i suggested one place in past 4 weeks those also turn out to be CON Guys. .. i have reported it to the respected PW member having faith in them, to pay a visit and twist their arms.

First noticed on second oil Change, might be an old issue.

Oil consumption has many reasons. Let’s go through the most common ones quickly:

Engine design. Some engines consume oil by design. From day 1. The consumption can be as high as 1 liter per 1000 kms (cca. 1.7 quarts per mile). This depends on the make and model of the engine so if oil consumption matters to you a lot then you are better off asking questions on the forums about it.
Driving style. RPM affects oil consumption. The higher your usual RPM is the more oil will be consumed. That’s because you put extra pressure on the seals and gaskets and some of the oil finds its way around and gets burned away in the combustion chamber.
Seal and gasket condition. The more worn they are the more oil will be consumed. What happens is the same thing that I mentioned in the previous section: the oil finds its way around the seals and it gets burned away in the combustion chamber or it simply leaks out.
Higher-than-normal engine temperature. The hotter your engine runs the thinner your oil will be. Once again it will be simpler for a thin oil to reach the combustion chamber and get mixed and burned with the fuel.
Too-low viscosity motor oil. If you use an oil with a viscosity below the recommended by the engine manufacturer than you will experience oil consumption.
Low quality motor oil with high volatility. I mention this as the last one because this is the least common reason. If the oil’s volatility is very high than it could be noticeable in the oil consumption rate.
There are also numerous other reasons including but not limited to high oil level, the damage or clogging of different engine parts and the fuel contamination of the oil.

Check for radiator fan operation, is it working?
Change oil and oil filter.
My suggestion would be to change the oil brand & viscosity. Try Shell or Total.
Secondly stop using Hi octane, your car doesn't need it.

1L oil reduction over 1000 KMs running is normal in newer toyota high compression engines and mentioned in manual. check it. its no issue as long as u keep it topped up upon weekly periodic inspection.

also switch to orignal toyota taglon 5w-50 API SN oil. its most suited to our temperature conditions and toyota engines.

please share some reference data for such oil consumption in healthy engine....

a toyota 2NZ FE at 168000 km odo, oil consumption is only 200 ml per 5000 kms., if your theory be accepted there shall be under 1 liter of engine oil after 4500 kms.. 5 W 50 in a efi engine, really ?? 10w 40 or 5w-30 engine oil will put the engine at best bet performance

Engine oil has the primary functions of
lubricating and cooling the inside of the
engine, and plays a major role in maintaining
the engine in proper working order.
ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION
It is normal that an engine should consume
some engine oil during normal
engine operation. The causes of oil
consumption in a normal engine are as
follows.
Oil is used to lubricate pistons, piston
rings and cylinders. A thin film of oil
is left on the cylinder wall when a piston
moves downwards in the cylinder.
High negative pressure generated when
the vehicle is decelerating sucks some
of this oil into the combustion chamber.
This oil as well as some part of the oil
film left on the cylinder wall is burned
by the high temperature combustion
gases during the combustion process.
Oil is also used to lubricate the stems
of the intake valves. Some of this oil
is sucked into the combustion chamber
together with the intake air and is
burned along with the fuel. High temperature
exhaust gases also burn the
oil used to lubricate the exhaust valve
stems.
The amount of engine oil consumed depends
on the viscosity of the oil, the
quality of the oil and the conditions the
vehicle is driven under.
More oil is consumed by high−speed driving
and frequent acceleration and deceleration.
A new engine consumes more oil, since
its pistons, piston rings and cylinder walls
have not become conditioned.
Oil consumption: Max. 1.0 L per 1000
km (1.1 qts./600 miles, 0.9 lmp.qts./600
miles)
When judging the amount of oil consumption,
note that the oil may become
diluted and make it difficult to judge
the true level accurately.
