Pl advise, Which transmission oil should i use for my Toyota Passo Hanna Plus 2010 model ?

One of my friend advised ZIC and one says Toyota.. Need your expert opinion ple

You car correct transmission oil is Toyota cvt tc tin can.

I don't know but it's between 4500-5500 for 3.7L can from local shop and Rs 1000-1500 expensive from Toyota dealers.
What's your car total mileage?
First time it should be changed at 60-70k km
And after change replace it every 40000 km.
I think your need 3 to 3.5L better to check in owner manual.
Note: kindly change CVT oil from experienced mechanic or you will mess up your car transmission.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a suitable workshop to get the CVT fluid changed in ISB/RWP ?. Is the flushing method (changing without opening the chamber) also fine ?

Also in case the chamber is opened is the CVT gasket/join for passo 2010-16 available in the market ?

Although it a Toyota, but i would recommend you to go for AMX Honda Islamabad .

Not in this thread but i remember someone asked @Xulfiqar from where to change the transmission oil and he replied, better to do it yourself , he also suggested that if filter/gasket is not easily available then there is no need to open up sump,, simple drain and refill method will do. I agree to both tips as the last time when i got oil changed in Passo 2009 at 70k milage, somehow mechanic over poured the oil and seals still throwing up moisture down the box.
Based on above, this time around i decided to do it myself at home. however, a little baffled about the exact quantity of ATF T-iv.
1. Should i simply gauge the quantity which comes out from the drain nut and pour back same in through the dip stick pipe Or the method mentioned in posts to fill through filler port and let the temperature creeping up to the required level till it start dripping off slowly (but that was all about cvt isnt?).
2. one more thing mentioned on dip stick also halted me i.e. "3.2" pic attached (is it the quantity of oil, box should have or some thing else)
3. Its been two years since i changed the oil for the first time @70km and now its 115km, bottom of the box area stay moist all the times with meager leak but surprisingly oil level @ dipstick always at par why?
4. while filling back the gear oil, isn't OK to only ensure that oil reaches the H mark on dipstick regardless whats engine temp is?

That 32 mark is not quantity,

Check oil level with engine running and car level, you will need to wait 10 minutes between fill and check to let all oil drain off the dipstick filler tube.

Also, you will need to check it close to 10 times to see the correct level.

As usual, underfilling by little is better than overfilling, overfilling causes foaming

noted with thanks. however, dipstick pipe is way above the height of sump, is it really gonna drain off from their, if i dont put the stick back and let the engine switched on for 10 min.

so level at the dipstick should not crossed H mark when engine is hot.is that rite? i am sure all the moist/foam shall be vanished once oil reached the right level.

when you fill oil from the dipstick tube, the oil sticks to the tube walls and gives you false readings til it has completely dribbled off and into the sump.

Dear members, my mechanic put ATF in my passo and i travelled almost 2000 km wd it. After covering 800 km , i faced gear shifting issue (but i thought its mere an issue of substandrd patrol) so i brought my car to the mechanic and he did tuning by cleaning throtal body etc etc and i travelled almost 1200 km wd it and my car made the same issue again. When i searched on internet , i came to know the cause .so i asked my mechanic to flush the existing fluid from gear box and put CVT in it(zic cvtf -as it was the only option in my small town) I discussed wd some othr mechanic and they advised me to change the complete gearbox which will cost almost 55k. 2/3 mechanics have also asked me to wait for sometime by not driving the car. Means k car ko kuch din mat chalain, shyed gear belt adjust hu jye etc etc. The problm z that i live in a small town and the available mechanics who ,even, dont know which transmission oil , how can i rely on them ? Moreover, i cant take my car to any big city due to my job etc etc . Any suggestion and guidelines in this regard....??? If someone has already faced this issue? Will be obliged to all of u. Thanx

Hi,

The recommended transmission fluid for your car is Toyota CVT-TC or Toyota CVT-FE (newer standard). If you can share the picture of ZIC box, please post it here from front and back. If it is compatible with Toyota CVT, then it be mentioned somewhere on it behind the box. ATF is for normal non-CVT auto transmissions and not suitable for your car at all. Also share the model of your Passo.

sir its cvtf multi . Passo model z 2013. Today i tried to run my car at 50/60 and it went easily (due to fog) its gear was slipping yesterday. Today the gears seemed smooth.. but i dont know how much the damage has been done wd gearbox
