Toyota Prado 2005 Maintainance info

i have a 2005 model prado 3400cc petrol which has now done 64000km.
I am going to take it in for a check up in a weeks time.
What should i get checked or changed. Any idea how much the brake disc both front and rear cost?
Should i get the diffrential oil changed too? Any idea of a good place to get it done or shud i go to toyota walton as usual.
Any comment or suggestion will be highly appretiated.

Change all fluids
engine oil
brake fluid
power steering ,
drain radiator and refill with coolant,
gear oil (must fter 50k km) and 4x4 transmission fluid aswell.
New air filter
Get your timing belt changed as wel as check the other belts as well
brake pads if needed , don't bother with discs if you don't need to they will set you back a lot of cash
get your throttle body serviced if you wwant new spark pluplugs
fuel filter if possible.

thats what comes to mind if you do these preventive maintenance tasks your car will be trouble free for years to come. I do this to any new jeep I get

True but u drive a 2005 Prado man , it ain't cheap. Well this is a very extensive list some things you have probably just done or aren't scheduled for some time like engine oil air filter. But deff to gear oil and fuel pump changes.

i prefer to get all the things done together as it avoids you going back to mechanic over and over again.

drain radiator and refill with coolant, 300
gear oil (must fter 50k km) and 4x4 transmission fluid aswell. The same 450 power steering one will also be used here might need a couple of litres not sure

This might seem like over kill but it's the peace of mind you get and car pays you back in long run by avoiding mechanic work later. Auto tranny needs a check at least you don't want to run dry a fix would cost you into thousands also I've come across many jeeps which don't have 4x4 anymore as the owners never took care of them

Tell them to make estimate before getting the work done.

Timing belt/fan/ac belt they will alone cost around 20 to 30k
brake pads will be around 10-15k i think
around 3000 will be AT fluid
fuel filter will be 10 or 15k

Well i'll say expect around 80-100k for complete 80k check up

AT fluid can't be that less. small cars like civic, corolla cost that much.

don't know about fuel filter. but some parts are often not readily available so may even have to import yourself if not found in market.

I would say sell it before the 80k checkup or when you see signs of serious problems....

if you are in lahore i can recommend you a very good mechanic who deals in only suvs. my all suvs goes to him for maintance and his work is way better then all others

Prius diagnostics costed me Rs.10,000 from Toyota it is only an a-4 sheet with plenty of codes mentioning all ok and i was like WTF for 10K

and all they did was probably connect that computer with your car and press enter.

and they tell you the computer is very very very expensive.

you go home and google for the device, and realize you paid atleast one-fourth the price of the device lol.

Totally agree on the diagnostic charges, I used to get ripped off but then I found a very nice guy who does it for free sometimes.

brakes pad can't be that exp I just got mine changed and it cost me 7k for all four
transmission bottle from zic costs 458 per liter so I think max 4 litres will go into it (not sure)

also the main thing will be your belts that's probably the most exp thing in the list.

I don't think you will face any difficulty in sourcing parts, it's a Prado they are very common these days.

any one have idea of cost of belts. The car is giving me no problems except brakes are soft.

Corolla's belt is 8000 and its pulley is 13000 so you can made a guess about Prado

1 more thing, the owners manual says to check belts at 60, 80 k and change at 100k

ok now time for an update......Due to a very hectic practice schedule i finally decided to get the car serviced from toyota cantt.
Oil changes and front brake pad change cost around 30 k.
Belts now remaining and its another 50 k which i will do in a month or so. Attached are prices of diffrent stuff:
