It's been 6 months since I own a 3rd Gen Prius. It always gets washed and detailed at home, never saw a service station. And in all this time I never used water on the engine, just a slightly damp cloth on the prominent plastic parts.
What I saw a few days ago at the I-8 Markaz Shell pump that a sky blue Prius, also a 3rd Gen was getting serviced. The not-so-wise owner got the engine washed with pressure water. That was a pure recipe for disaster right there, the car would've easily become a barbecue grill. I am amazed at the level of intelligence of such people who have the money to buy such cars but have nothing called as sense. Prius kafi log lay to rahay hain har kisi ko iss ki samajh nahi hai, jinko nahi hai woh please civic ya corolla le lain Prius se parhaiz karain.

but kuch masla hai.mane prius ly tou li.7 Aug ko ani hai.but filhal apni corolla sath asa hi karta hun.engine full pressue sy wash etc..mai tou ab prius ly chuka so Bhai plzz ap hi ab help karna:(

Guys please advice me regarding the best oil for my 07 Prius. My use is mix (50% city & 50% Highway) on hot climate. Toyota recommends 5w30 with change interval of 5000 km.I have two choices:
1. ZIQ A+ Fully Synthetic - 5W20
2. Shell Helix HX7 G - 5W30 (Blue Bottle)
3. Shell Helix Ultra E - 5W30 (Grey Bottle)

Also recommend me the Oil filter brand to use,price and where to get the genuine oil filter. Many Thanks

i used ZIC XQ (5w-40 Fully Synthetic).. it went through scorching heat of lahore which went upto 47C couple of months ago. I also took mine to motorway in the same heat... everything went well !!

I am using Liqui Moly 5w30 fully synthetic. it is for Rs. 4200 per 3 liter (I put only 3 liter in my Prius 2010). Its recommended to change after 15000 km but I change after 10000 km. So overall it costs you less than other oils. I think it is the best oil you can get. I use genuine Toyota filter, it is a bit expensive but is better than others.

it is 1.8

4 liter fills the oil to full mark. But for prius it is recommended that the oil should be be below the full mark. the best is just between the half and full mark on the dip stick
