I got the status checked through a friend in GT motors, he said your invoice will be treated prioir to 24th (before price reductions) and they won't be giving you a refund for the reduction. I called up Toyota Islamabad Motors to clear this query up. To my surprise they started playing games that if the car has already been invoiced prior to 24th, it'll be to you at the old (higher price). I was like how is the car invoiced if it hasn't even been received yet? Then the CS manager started calling up people and said there is a high chance k new (reduced) prices will apply. I told I don't a single word you are telling me, I've no reason to believe your 'word' anymore and I need this in writing. To which he clearly said sorry and refused. As a result I asked him for a refund and cancellation request straight away. To my surprise, they went ahead and mentioned that the tax thats been paid when my car was first invoice will not be returned and you'll lose money. That's when I lost it and told him to take me the owner (Amir).
I went and met Amir, told him the frustration I am going through and that it's now been 24-days now of your staff playing games with me. It's a huge mistake that I brought my business to you guys and the pathetic level of service is unbelievable. When it clearly says in the terms & conditions that 'The price at the time of delivery will prevail', how come you are telling me I won't get a refund equal the reduction? It also says in another clause that in case of delays or any price changes, the customer reserves the right to cancel his order without any admin fee dedections or so. Why are the guys downstairs telling me otherwise and doing poor/falseretention attempts threatening that I'll lose money when I asked for a cancellation?
Long story short, I raised a point with Amir that I want your staff to tell me in presence of a credible person (which I see as you as the owner of the business) that when is my car getting delivered and what will be the invoice price? Their staff (who was shivering at that time, given how harsh the owner is) confirmed I'll get a replacement on Monday and price that'll apply will be the new (reduced price). To which I said in response that thanks a lot and if thats not the case, I'll be getting a FULL refund. We all verbally agreed on this and I left.
Fingers crossed, lets see what happens next and how long it takes to get the remainder amount back in my bank now.. BTW, today they parked the same hilux outside in the sun. Not just the flat pieces (hood, roof) had swirls but all of the doors and fenders also had huge sized/diameter swirl marks, I am happy I stood my ground (and will continue to do so).
