This Rush engine output is less than that of BRV in HP as well as in torque. So one can expect it to be slow.

Also Rush will come in rear-wheel drive.

If Toyota launches Rush in PKR 3 million category it would be highly irresponsible of them.

BRV is local assembled and shares platform with City, Rush will be CBD import and does not share platform with any local unit. Rush will be expensive and if the figure of 2.8+ million is correct then i would also opt for BRV considering the price difference. The advantage that rush has is rear wheel drive hence better for rough terrain and can take more beating. But fuel economy will be impacted and lower power of the engine will not help.

IMC wants to cash in on the Toyota Badge thats all.

please google toyota rush and its sale in americas and canada. you will be surprised. BRV is a horrible horrible car. you spend 2 million+ on a car whose sole 1st purpose should be being comfortable. rest of the bits come after that. honda city and honda brv are the worst cars in pkdms line up.

Some after thoughts:

1- Indus Toyota will not bring a BRV competitor and expect it to sell in any numbers on CBU pricing. So CKD should not be far off.

2- This format is eating into sedan market share all over the world. Big players have quit and/or announced to quit sedan business alltogether. So expect to see more crossovers.

3- Rush has less power and less torque and consumes more fuel. I think there is a 4 km/liter disadvantage to BRV.

4- If a wealthy but aesthetically blind friend gives you a BR-V as a gift, pass it on in a new gift wrapper.

5- BRV is selling 5000 units a year while being considered a failure. There is a lot of juice in the Pakistani market.

Of all the people I talk to I find two extremes regarding BR-V. People who need a seven seater loves it as it has solved a big problem of having a reasonable vehicle for moving large families. People who hates it are the typical grande/civic lovers who somehow cannot understand that moving seven people is more important than luxuries of a sedan.

Agreed. What else was there in our market to cater to the needs of our people who wanted a reasonable vehicle for 6-7 people? No reasonable vehicle existed and Honda knew that and introduced brv to capture this particular segment and the best part is that brv has some localisation to it's production. What happened with Vitara? CBDs are bound to be expensive because of the import taxes .
For Toyota Rush to succeed Toyota should start producing the vehicle locally to reduce the price otherwise there's no point literally.

they have terms and condition to follow, they are in agreement with suzuki to not launch what competes their products, otherwise suzuki would launch sedans, which will compete against city and corolla and thats not what toyota and honda would want because then they would have to update the vehicle on time, same goes against suzuki if toyota/honda launches hatchback, suzuki will be forced to revise their quality and what do you think where would mehran go then???
