I am starting this thread so that public is aware of limitations of Toyota Smart Purchase portal.
Indus Motor's advertised perception is like purchasing your vehicle directly through manufacturer is now very easy, just follow few simple steps and one will be able to circumvent all the hassle of purchasing the vehicles through the dealerships, so I gave it a try by creating the account on portal which in itself is quite a long process, after which I was asked to login to following portal,
https://www.toyotasmartpurchase.com/signin
Login ID is one's own CNIC number, after which one is asked to fill the following fields under Home>VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS,
- Model Type *
- Model *
- Variant *
- Color *
- City *
- Delivery Dealership *
After filling all the relevant fields when I tried to go to next page following message appeared on right upper corner,
! Sorry, This Vehicle is not available at this moment
And no matter what options I changed, by changing the models or colors or changing the dealers I still got the same message, so I started calling the Toll Free number 0800 11123 for further guidance, in the mean time I also sent the email to CR department customer.relations@toyota-indus.com I got contacted from CR department and was told of situation that reason that I am getting afore-mentioned message is that online portal has no allocation available at the moment, so I told them about the availability of vehicles on Toyota Indus main site, link is given below,
https://www.toyota-indus.com/vehicle-availability/
Well the response from Indus customer representative was that availability shown on Toyota site is only for dealers, which is not valid for the online portal, on further enquiry about the online allocation whether they are advertised anywhere, response was online allocation are not advertised but they are constantly posted and updated, and on further enquiry I was told online allocation quota is not Daily, Weekly or Monthly affair but its being updated constantly, so I finally asked them is there any way of ensuring that I do get the allocation by mail or something, response was like all online portal (Be it HEC or other some such department) I should keep trying to get the allocation.
Now the strange thing is that HEC is Govt run public service department, but Indus Motor is not a public service department but a commercial concern, who are in the business of making and selling of product, but philosophy remains the same.
