Toyota Surf 1994 1kz diesel

I am planning to purchase Toyota surf 94 model. My friend found out this one. it is manual 1kz diesel 1994/2008. Documents etc are complete. Please tell me what should be the price of this SUV. What should be the watchouts ? I am planning to keep it as a daily runner (40kms drive daily). How should I check it. Is it worth buying ?

Don't buy a modified vehicle for a daily driver. If you want a reliable daily driver, find a maintained suv with original engine as well as maintanence history

Moreover, a daily driver should be a highly reliable and fuel efficient vehicle.

1kz engine is reliable only if it has been properly maintained. Reliability encompasses a host of factors like its fuel pump working properly, fuel injectors not clogged, turbo charger working, cooling system having no leaks etc.

Further, 1kz is not fuel efficient engine.

Guys after driving it for 1000kms (since we were getting it from a friend who knows SUVs) , we have purchased this surf Alhamdulillah will be getting these jobs done shortly:

Replace the break pads
greasing
service
oil check
exhaust leakage checking
radiator cap, will be finding a kabuli one
Will be changing the tyre to 265 16 3150
RPM is not working, will get it fixed from plaza
Have to find a surf lips set
foot guard needs to be fixed.
Ac panel is not working/ damaged. Thinking of replacing it. Might have to get a dashboard

As per his statement, he has driven this Surf for 1000 km before buying.

I have never seen or heard anyone doing this much test driving before purchasing a vehicle. After this, a buyer should be in best position to know its shortcomings and the repair work required.

Your suggestion is good, but I think the member shall only proceed according to what he thinks is appropriate. And, of course what his friend says (from whom he has bought this Surf).

@muneer.mamdani Please get its suspension work assessed too, along with shocks and springs condition. In addition to this, check other lubes (gear oil, power steering fluid, diff oil, radiator coolant).
