Toyota Vitz Heavy Engine Load with AC

I have a 2002 Toyota Vitz and I'm facing an issue. Whenever I switch on the AC, it feels like there's a heavy load on the engine. Despite charging the AC with new gas this season and changing the filter, I'm still facing the same problem. The mechanic says I need to change the AC compressor because the current one is DUNLOP and it's not suitable for this model. Dear experts, please help!

You changed the gas in the system thinking it will reduce ac load?

Change your compressor it has gone bad use Honda Life of Duet compressor as they are variable type puts less load on engine you may not even feel whether it’s kicked on or not. 12 to 14 is for Honda life compressor 15 to 18 for duet or you can try finding your own Vitz compressor which is hard to find but not impossible people mostly selling repaired ones.
