Toyota vitz mileage between 9.1 to 9.2 with AC

I recently purchased a 2018 Toyota Vitz, which is the model next to the spider-shaped version. It gives me a mileage of 9.1 to 9.2 kilometers per liter. I performed general maintenance, including cleaning the catalytic converter, changing the spark plugs, cleaning the injectors, replacing the brake pads, changing the gear oil, changing the engine oil, and performing wheel alignment and balancing. Despite all these efforts, I am still getting only 9.2 kilometers per liter in mileage.

Try computer scan se all sensor
Oxygen sensor maf/map sensor air sensor
Also se long short trim fuel.

If every value is ok and car Are well mentained then problem is with driver it self

Shud give 12 to 15, but if and only if u drive with light foot and "eco" light on for 90% of the time...
BTW which engine oil u used?
Recommended is 0w-20

I have already checked everything, even got a scan done, which only showed an ABS braking error. The mechanic said it’s not a serious issue because the ABS light, along with other lights like engine, traction, and anti-collision, sometimes turn on but go off on their own after a while.

Apart from that, I usually drive with a heavy foot, but I tried driving with a lighter foot as well. Mileage did improve slightly, going up to around 10 km/liter, but only up to a speed of 40 km/h. Above that, the mileage still doesn’t improve.

I had the oil changed recently, but they put in 10W-40, which I found out afterward since I wasn’t present at the time. When I checked with someone else, they recommended 5W-20, but I’m considering using 0W-20 next time.

Cleaning the cat converter, cleaning the throttle, cleaning the injectors, changing gear oil etc will not fix your fuel mileage issue.

Find better mechanics

A 1000cc Vitz is a very underpowered car.

Add that stupid CVT box to the mix. It's sluggish then anything on the planet. Even a 660cc Alto speeds up easier then that.

So the way our Pakistani people drive thoose things forget that you get an fuel average out of it.

At max on long routes without stop and go you might fetch 13 kmpl.

On normal routes Pakistani petrol max you'll get in stip and go is 8 to 10 kmpl depending on how you drive it.

Also, once in a while or atleast 1 in 3 tanks of petrol add 10/15 liters of hi-Octane petrol.

Use Guard filters atleast if not genuine. Don't fall for Malaysian/ Imported kachra filters.

Also install factory recommended Iridium spark plugs. This the maximum you can do. Also if your cars throttle body, map/maf sensors aren't fiddled with just clean them with circuit cleaner or throttle body cleaner.

Yes obviously. Because of that CVT everyone revs these vitzes crazy. If you drive it tameez se keep your ego aside. These are pretty ok cars

Thank you for the great advice! I’ve always used high-octane fuel in my car, and I've installed original Denso spark plugs, just like the ones the company fits. I've done everything you mentioned, including driving with a light foot and being careful, but the mileage still stays around 9 to 10 km/l.

If you know any reliable mechanic in Lahore who could help with this issue or have any other useful suggestions, please share. I’d really appreciate it!

I have a Vitz too it's 2012 model third gen have same 1KRFE Engine. With AC and in stop and go traffic this mileage is true 9 - 10 KM/L if you running on octane. I'm using Zic 0W20 as well and that's the average on ground it gives. In steady speed of 30 - 40 KM/H or more average gets better I got Max of 14.5 without AC.

With heavy foot it is not underpower but better to drive it mostly in Eco mode. Check your car's tyre pressure as well.

For little expirement each time you drive reset the trip meter and analyze with different aspects with light foot, heavy or in stop and go or in long route. You will definently get different readings but at the end on Avg of all it will be 9-10 with AC.

It wont give any better average, Better dont waste your money.

Hi Octance is just to clean your engine of depsoits at times. it also might give a 1 or 2 kmpl advantage nothing beyond that.

Yeah I agree with this. Vitz 1.3L is more fuel efficient then 1.0L engine very strange.

I have vitz 2015 and i easily get 550 to 600 in full tank with all time ac on. Kindly check your tyre specs and as mentioned above check your sensors and get them service, importantly oxygen sensor.

ghar pe grocery lanei wali ALTO bhee 13 kmpl se ziada nae deti.

a straight driven Alto goes beyond 20 kmpl what ever you do with it manages 17.5 kmpl.

It doesnt means their is anything wrong with the car. Driving conditions matter.

agreed.. i experienced this jewel shape 2018 vitz 33k mileage. And 8 10 km per litre in mix traffic..

Using hi octane in this engine will actually cause low fuel mileage and also extreme carbon buildup in the combustion chambers.

Hi octane is not a cleaning agent, its just a slower burning fuel for high compression engines.

Agreed. But after using Irani fuel in my Cultus i usually put hioctance to kill the knocking.

Even with Vitz 10 liters in every 3rd or 4th tank. Been doing this practice for a very long time.

Also since 97 RON is standard in Malaysia, We got full tanks 97 RON only.

I regularly check my tire pressure and have already tried all the suggestions you all mentioned, including general maintenance and checks. However, I'm still surprised how some of you manage to get an average of up to 15 km/l with the AC on from your 1000cc Vitz. How can I achieve this mileage? Also, if anyone can recommend an expert mechanic or advise whether I should take it to Toyota company mechanics, that would be great.
