ghar pe grocery lanei wali ALTO bhee 13 kmpl se ziada nae deti.

a straight driven Alto goes beyond 20 kmpl what ever you do with it manages 17.5 kmpl.

It doesnt means their is anything wrong with the car. Driving conditions matter.

agreed.. i experienced this jewel shape 2018 vitz 33k mileage. And 8 10 km per litre in mix traffic..

Using hi octane in this engine will actually cause low fuel mileage and also extreme carbon buildup in the combustion chambers.

Hi octane is not a cleaning agent, its just a slower burning fuel for high compression engines.

Agreed. But after using Irani fuel in my Cultus i usually put hioctance to kill the knocking.

Even with Vitz 10 liters in every 3rd or 4th tank. Been doing this practice for a very long time.

Also since 97 RON is standard in Malaysia, We got full tanks 97 RON only.

I regularly check my tire pressure and have already tried all the suggestions you all mentioned, including general maintenance and checks. However, I'm still surprised how some of you manage to get an average of up to 15 km/l with the AC on from your 1000cc Vitz. How can I achieve this mileage? Also, if anyone can recommend an expert mechanic or advise whether I should take it to Toyota company mechanics, that would be great.

9 average is indeed a bit low for within city average, but do NOT expect to get 15km/L in city driving. Vitz never gives this average and anyone claiming as such is lying / calculating incorrectly.

I know you are saying you have tried all the things, so it’s still a bit confusing why it’s giving you max 9/10. Have you reset the average mileage meter yet?

In stop and go city traffic the max you can expect is up to 12 km/L.

With heavy foot and very congested traffic 10-11 is fine.

Only on empty roads where you don’t brake at all and drive steadily at 60 speed 15 average is possible.

Thank you all very much for sharing your opinions and expert insights. One thing I forgot to mention is that the traction and ABS lights often turn on automatically, along with the engine and anti-collision lights, but they go off after a while. I had the car scanned at two different places, and both mechanics said there was no major issue; they mentioned that the errors could be due to the tires going through water. The scan did show an issue related to the brakes, but I already had the brake pads changed, and I don't experience any braking problems. However, I do feel some underpower when accelerating after applying the brakes. Both mechanics said the same thing—that the car's tires might have gone through water, which causes the error to appear, but it's not a serious problem. I would appreciate your help regarding this as well and look forward to your replies.

This problem could be as simple as a loose grip.

Toyota program their cars to show all systems go into error state when a driveline system goes into fault - e.g. ABS fault will light up the check engine light - this is to alert driver to not waste time and get it fixed.

by your postings you are probably visiting extreme novice level guys more accustomed to generators or Honda CD70 type engines. Hire services of a true mechanic workshop that is fully equipped with the tooling and also knowledge to test and fix these.

You see a lot of people buy full equipped cars but dont have 2 coins to rub together when it comes to maintenance.

I am getting 9-11 km/l in the city with the AC and almost 18-19 on long routes with the AC. My car is a 2012 vitz with 1.0l engine.
