Okay, so in order to get a reverse cam installed in my vitz 08, I went ahead to the stereo market in Saddar, Rawalpindi and started looking for one. The camera most commonly being installed is referred to as universal camera and comes in different brands e.g. axis. They ask around 1800-2000 for this cam and are ready to reduce around 200 from it. There are other cameras as well with sensors and statedly better night visions but I think the basic one suffices. The installation charges vary from 200-500 depending on where they are able to settle you. A tricky part of it is that the default dvd player( ...W508) in vitz 08 in my model didn't have a direct cam out option, so a mechanic has to do a bit of mastery behind the player (connecting a few cables here and there) and thats where they can charge you money (varying between 500-1000). This mechanic can be different from the shop's installer depending on big/better the shop is. DO NOT fall prey to this mechanic as he'll tell you he'll use the vitz software cd (I didn't have mine) and will also make sure that the player isn't disconnected from power (because that can put a password which is impossible to break unless you have its original software cd and that can cause you an expense of around 10k to get fixed by replacing chip in it.. true story)... But in the case of installing a reverse cam, there was no need to take the power off, so I did not buy into that mechanics claims and went to another shop with a good reference. That shop guy was honest to me (because of the reference) and charged me 2100 in total and installed the cam in around 90 mins.
Just wanted to share the experience so that it may be helpful to anyone looking forward to install a cam...
