I am about to shift from mutigrade mineral 20 W 50 Toyota oil to Liqui moli semi sythetic 10 W 40 in my 2 SZ in a few days time. will share the experience . A Toyota capital guy once told me that they use the above mentioned oil every car regardless of all the factors. Isnt it starnge. Can some one put some light on it. Futher more, I regularly visit Caltex F - 10. No issues with them so far.

You can google for the exact serial number for the plugs, try denso or bosch... both are good...

The oil was recommended to you because its a safe grade, meaning it will not harm your engine but it is ok nevertheless... this grade (20w 50 is recommended for old engines... the oil recommended for your car would be 5w 30 but you can use 5w 40 fully synthetic too)...

I don't like f 10 caltex for fuel... Never had an oil change there... i prefer going to f 6 caltex... but if you get liqui moly, you'll have to do the oil change yourself or ask some mechanicto do it for you...

And don' t go for semi-synthetic, it's rubbish... either fully synthetic or plain mineral... anything in between is just a cheap ripoff...

What is the proper method of re-setting the ECU of the Vitz 1.3 2 SZ version. And if there is any > Juggaar< or a layman's way of doing it. Everyone including Experts and those having some experience are requested to comment in as much detail as possible.

The other question is about the benefit of having additional grounding cables attached with battery Negative. On the suggestion of a local mehanic in Islamabad I have attached additional grounding wire from battery Negative to the Chassis of the car. I have observed that the car has become more smooth after spending only Rs 300.

Candid suggestions and guidelines are requested.

I guess all problems are solved...

ECU reset? Or re-set? Cauz in order to reset it all you have to do is remove the positive battery terminal for 10 min or 30 min... ECU re-set maybe refers to changing the mappings on the ecu? That, sir, is not available with local people and for that you may have to go to a tuner garage...

I did not refer to the re-mapping of the ECU, I was just curious about the text book method of resetting the ECU. the proper way of doing it.

If you go for wider tyres, reduce the profile too...

Right now you may be running 175/65/14

You can upgrade to 185/60/15 without hurting the economy much...

Dear Brothers,
I have Vitz 2007, my question is,,
When ever we switch on our car ac, we keep thermostate on Max. coool.on blue.and when heater on or we want hot air we keep our knob on red.
My question is, when my AC on and i want less cooloing and keep the knob on a little hoter side, what will b the effect on ac compressor, will it trip or not?
Can i save fuel by keeping knob on a little less cool side or i should on/off ac button time by time..

No it won't reduce compressor on time. Don't compare it to your split unit. Basically this red and blue knob controls hot water flow for heating car cabin. If u turn on a.c and keep the know in middle it will increase load on a.c. better keep fan speed to slow if less cooling is required.
