I am planning to buy a car and my choice is either Passo (2010 above model) vs. Vitz (2010 2nd generation) since my budget is between 9 lac to 10 lacs.

Here is the deal:
Passo:
I have heard that Passo is more fuel efficient as compare to vitz. As it is more economical car with good features.

Vitz:
Vitz exterior and interior looks beautiful & also its more comfortable but on the other hand its quite expensive in term of maintenance & fuel consumption.

More recommendations are welcomed.

Brother I've kept a belta for an year and 3 vitz in total from time to time.
Acc to my experience if you buy a vitz with an abused engine and transmission... You will waste your hard earned money. Advisable is to buy 1.3. 1000cc isn't at all bad either but it demands proper maintenance. And if maintained according to schedule, it has excellent fuel economy and comfort. Don't trust fake auction sheets and maintenance reciept. Get it's transmission and engine checked by some expert like raja atta in Islamabad.

Brother trany in vitz is K410. It's very sensitive to the oil being used in it. Generally mechanics don't have knowledge and they replace it with ATF which slowly kills the transmission. Toyota CVTF must be replaced every 40k Kms. Transmission once screwed for any reason can't be repaired and replacement is expensive. Before buying vitz do check the trans fluid it's running. And whether it was replaced at correct intervals. It's replacement procedure and level is very precise as well. Car has to be level within 1°. Trans oil temp must be between 36 to 45°C. Any sensible expert mechanic wud know all this.

Now the engine. Vitz has 1KR-FE 3 cylinder engine. If oil isn't changed in time or engine runs tap water in radiator rather than coolant, the damage is done. There wud be sludge that causes multiple problems. Mechanics generally remove the cat converter and drill tiny holes in throttle plate to adjust idle rpm. If these sort of alterations have been done... Stay away... It'll a continuous pain in the neck.

That's my limited knowledge and experience. Experts can further refine and explain.

Everything other than engine and transmission are a one time replacement and expense e.g suspension, interior, cosmetics (paint) etc. All these things can be fixed, but if engine and transmission are not perfect, you will keep visiting mechanics and still won't be satisfied with drive quality. So thoroughly chk them.
If u find a carefully maintained vitz, trust me it's a pleasure to drive.

Vitz ground clearance

Asalam u Alaikum. I own vitz 2013 import 2016. It's time to change my tyres. Currently I am having 165/70/R14 I am having ground clearance issue. I need ur expert opinion Should I change the rim size from R14 to R15 or should I go for spacer? Which one would be best. I have heard changing rim size will effect fuel consumption and putting spacers will effect drive grip n pick. Regards

Till now i have visited to see many cars like vitz and passo but its all confusing. I have few questions.
1. What is swap engine? What i know old vitz are 1000cc but many says its swap engine and 1300cc.
2. Passo is better than vitz? If so, whats the reason?
3. If i go to buy any of them what should i check first personally for my satisfaction that car would not have any work in the engine or so. Bcz i dont trust mechanics.
4. Besides vitz and passo, swift is a good option too??
5. Can i get vitz or passo in the range of under 850???
