hence proved 5-30 officially recommended by toyota its not for temporary usage purpose

3 litres ... actually in owners manual its mentioned 3.1 litres with filter but 3 litres sy b kaam chal jayega ! Here is a screenshot from owners manual. [image]

Keep using the 5w30 in newer gen 1KR and you would end up in catastrophic damage like engine knock which you guys miss diagnose with octane knock and ends in disaster. Keep using 5w30 and also high octane.

If you do got your self out of keyboard and Google war then perform a compression test on that engine and use your choiced engine oil after 10000kms do perform it again and see the difference and then google it again for help. Or end up in damaged engine.

Guys, please stop fighting over engine oil. Tuadi gaddi, tuadi marzi. I don't care if you run your engine on olive oil, if you believe it will nourish the engine better, then i won't interfere in your beliefs. Just take raja bhais advice or leave it.

I have 2013 model vitz, not sure if it is new gen 1kr or older gen but i have got the user manual book along with it when i bought it, i will check that too at home and will definitely share here its screen shots as well.

I am not an expert, I am just trying to keep my car safe since it is bought with hard earned money. Regarding different oil viscosities, may be 0-20 is good for Pak Winter weather or it is suitable for cold areas and 5-20/30 is suitable for Pak Summer seasons or Hot weather areas, i dont know But all above viscosities are recomended by Toyota.

Ok you don't had the new gen 1KR stick to the 5W-30 100% synthetic fluid 0w20 is also good but don't know about the engine condition.

On 0w20 you would had superior acceleration and good fuel economy and less chances of getting your catalytic converter clogged.

5w30 if full synthetic will also perform well.
So stick to 5w30 all seasons. With customized drain intervals for every season.

Atta Sir, we are always being advised by our mechanics, toyotoa 3S to use 5W30 for 1KRFE although i beginning we asked them to use 0W20 but every one including Manual says that both grades are most preferred , so if an authorized technician who deals with dozens of vehicles daily , we have no option except trust him beside manual as well.

And now you are saying that 5W30 destroys 1KRFE. that is a very serious claim, you need to prove it so we can sue or take to court hundreds of those technicians/company manual who says that 5W30 is best for 1KRFE for Vitz/Passo.

Same way you already said about LM 5W30 that its old technology and (although we pay for these Brands much higher than Toyota Genuine Oil). leaves question marks

Engine Oil selection is not like "Aap ki Marzi", its a serious allegation that should be discussed, I will wait for some experts opinion by @xulfiqar and some other professionals.

The specific vehicle we are talking about is vitz New gen 1KR-FE not old one which was from 2005 till 2014.

Post a pic of your engine bay and will advise you the best oil viscosity for your vehicle. Older gen 1KR-FE are happy with 5w30.
As concerned of LM lubes those aresults not reliable for over the drain intervals of long drain durations like more than 10000kms. LM breaks down on till 600 kms and is a junk oil on more than that.

The concern of sueing these technicians and companies here in pakistan is not that easy because they don't accept any responsibility for their advices or repair jobs neither any wriiten evidence is provided for future refference every thing is running on hit and trial methods.

what do you mean by customized drain intervals? different intervals for summer/ winter weather? should soon change oil if there is much usage of AC in summer?

Its non-facelift engine March 2014 is registered year in Japan and May 2017 Import.
Confusion resolved after your statement.

Jazakallah sir.
It means that in that procedure,you break in the engine completely just like you purchase a pre knocked cricket bat,that is ready to play.
So user do not have to worry about load conditions, that he might intentionally or in intentionally damage the engine.
Or
Even after that one has to complete the running??
Please guide.
One more thing,will you do the same procedure to cars that do not have onboard ecm,(means you cannot extract parameters from them e.g. Mehran,cultus,daewoo,khyber etc etc

@rajaatta bhai baat ye hai k aap ki baten aur apka experience ham sun rahe hain, parh rahe hain. But i don't think k abhe 1kr-fe ki newer generation engine breakdown ka case deal keya hou apne. Coz these newer gen 1kr-fe aka 3rd Gen 1st facelift (2014 April n onwards Model) tou ana hi abhe shuru hoe hai.
Baat banda samjhta tabh hai jabh wo oem against na jae.
Ap to bhai north ko south aur south ko north pole keh dete ho k baki sarey pagal hain. Follow me only else u ll end up in a disaster.
OEM says ow-20 to 5w30, u say 5w30 engine tabah.
OEM says 95 RON n abv, u say Hi octane engine tabah.
Sir aap to OEM ko ho fail kr rahe hain..
Koe ese baat btaen jo log yaqeen bhe kren...
We admit apki workshop hai, u ve handson experience. But bhai Owner manual bhe koe cheez hai. Abh ye gariyan russia s to aa nhi rahe, jo sardi s garmi m aik dam aye aur idr aake warr jaen. Japan s aa rahe hain n more n less avg temp humidity etc conditions are almost similar.

Yes thats the case initial brekin which is known as piston ring and cylinder bore seating is done at first 20 minute of start time.
But to counter any further variations or any problem we do the systematic brekin till the load value's settle down to normal values.

Yes this procedure can be initiated on normal EFI Engines too but in carby engines idle fuel mixture and ignition timing accuracy is key to a proper brekin but somehow it can be done.... R&D is still on these carby engines.

Well customized drain intervals means in winters there is no extra load on engine except high rpm driving and agresive drive conditions or hilly area drive.
Normal drain interval can be extended upto 10000kms in winters

But for summers continues A/C usage and stop and go driving conditions of city can detoriate's fast so in summers drain intervals can be shorten till 4000 kms.
You can customize the drain intervals on your own by observing the oil behaviour.
