reduction in oil is as per design. see your car manual. i also copied the manual over here some time back.

it clearly says that reduction 1 litre of oil / 1000 KM driven is normal and no issue. just keep a check and keep the oil topped up.

it is as per toyota engine design. all vitz and corolla have this written in their manual. no need to worry. its to save the engine under strain. reduction and burning of oil is not necessarily any fault if you are not experiencing anything else like missing, loss of pick or power or any strange noise from the engine. its the design.

also manual clearly allows to use higher viscosity oil in hotter conditions. u can see in the manual.

higher viscosity oils are usually more protective for the engine. that is why u can see on the boxes of 5w-30 oils and it usually mentions fuel efficiency and higher viscosity boxes say max protection.

10-11km/L in city with our usual rush traffic is absolutely fine n expected for 1kr vitz. With ac.

Nothing at all to worry about.

Never pay heed to figures saying 14km/l in city. It's calculated over small kilometers running, on empty roads with not much braking required n soft pedal.

You will never hear good of average from owners using 20w50 in this car.

Mostly depends on your driving if you are a heavy footer than forget about mileage if you drive sensibly than all cars will give you good mileage according to their cc. Vitz 2014 gives good mileage.vitz all models are good...so don't worry just get a good decent car of your liking and enjoy it.

Wsalam, I have used vitz 2018 for like 2000 kms so not sure if you will take my word for it or not, but I'm getting 14.5-15 easily. I used liqui moly 5w30 when I purchased it. 2014 vitz is almost similar to 2018 so I think if you buy a well maintained low mileage car you'll get similar results.

With a hard foot in city traffic n 0w20 oil, expect 10-11 km/L.

If your city drive consists mostly of un-cogested roads and soft acceleration, it can go above 12 km/L, max 13-14km/L in most cases.

On motorway, driving 110 speed or below, it can give ~17 km/L.

If the car is new it's user manual will tell you and if it is old car's engine condition will tell you nothing is on your hand you have to follow the situation and should be attentive to read it right and don't listen to what's right and what's not. If I suppose to increase oil weight what will be the suggestion currently using 5w30 Petromin Fully synthetic. Car is Toyota Vitz 2012 model and this one is used assembly bought from Bilal Gunj and using 5w30 from day first. Drive until around 8k km. After running about 2500km I suppose to add about 150 ml to keep oil level full as I feel little oil drop from max point. Normally drive in a light foot and totally city drive, also plan to get CAT clean soon does it make any difference in oil consumption. Pick is decent but little Tik Tik sound on idle mode coming since day one as someone claim may be some piston bearing worn out but get reduce enough after 2nd oil change. First one, I changed in 300 km then about 4300km and current is still running. So kindly do guide and give valuable suggestion.
